Maybe I'm not perfect, but I think it starts to get into the idea that the distinction between plants and animals isn't as clear cut as people imagine it's well worth it in the long run.

Up until 'imagine', I think this was just word for word from another comment i made on lemmy before. Weird app-specific autocorrect?

The network capacity is the main constraint, needs crazy reinforcement to deal with more decentralised generation at the same time as power demand is roughly going to double by 2050 (not long in terms of major infrastructure projects).

And that was all before AI data centres.

No thanks, I'm trying to keep my in-dog minutes to a minimum this month.

Onedrive is a nightmare.

Once made the mistake of keeping some personal photos in the 'pictures' directory of my own laptop.

Then started a course at uni, installed the free student version of MS365 or whatever it's called, including onedrive.

Next thing i know, I get a popup notification displaying the 'best of' my private photos on screen, while I'm showing colleagues something on my laptop!

I mean I'm gonna assume that radiators are that shape because it's optimised for having the most surface area for the least structural material and least space taken up...

Fake: Anon claims his Dad was already married and cheating at 8 years old. This is not realistic in human society.

Gay: Hot dude-on-dude action throughout.

Right, I'm no expert (and very far from an AI fanboi), but not all "AI" are LLMs. I've heard there's good use cases in protein folding, recognising diagnostic patterns in medical images.

It fits with my understanding that you could train a similar model on more constrained datasets than 'all the English language text on the Internet' and it might be good at certain jobs.

Am I wrong?

Even when it's fully installed, people will try to steal the copper cables. In the power industry it's a real problem with people removing the earthing, not always noticeable right away, but then it's not safe to work on anymore.

The local pharmacist in my parent's village died from accidentally eating poisonous mushrooms ☹️

I think getting dopamine from starting new things, but no reward for finishing things is one of the main adhd things.

Hmm, apparently terrorism is way less of a big deal than it seems like. This map covers 47 years, and only a few thousand (or maybe a couple of tens of thousands) deaths (rough estimate - am I wrong?).

Compared to maybe 3M excess deaths in Europe during covid...

This leads to more questions than answers for me.

Where was the slug coming from, and if it had got onto the mat despite the salt, why couldn't it go back the same way?

Is it because they called rather than order through the app?

Or because OP is ugly?

I've heard their wings can break your arm, so it might not be just as simple as that. Still probably a good first step. But if this happened when he's out swimming where he can't stand, that would be an advantage for the swan.
