Just trying to figure out how all of this works.

The nice thing about this right now is that you don't need to feel witty or creative to post stuff as long as it fits the community you're in. There aren't enough people to compete with for posts to get attention, that's the main attraction to smaller social media environments: you feel like you matter more.

If you chose to back Lilith, the eternal conflict would've ended...with her winning and everyone else losing. I'm not sure why there are so many Lilith supporters, Guulrahn made it pretty clear she doesn't care about humans and is just using them as a tool for her own power.

I wasn't able to see the posts from the community as it has been removed, but the comments in that community from you point to the possibility that it was inflammatory.

A response from an instance moderator should help clarify the reasoning though.

Might be a good spot for one of the instance moderators to chime in. Not sure if it's appropriate to tag them in posts like this but it might be a nice spot to provide a clear explanation that others can point to for future examples of this type of removal.

I didn't see anything about misinformation in the CoC but one of them might have felt the community was inflammatory. It'll also be interesting to see if this is one of those things they just don't want on their instance. While we would like impartial instances in general, they are running it for us and Lemmy is likely in a limbo period of trying to establish precedence for what is allowed.

One of the reasons I wanted to follow this post is to hopefully get an even clearer explanation on what is allowed and what to expect going forward from this instance.

I'm looking for Reddit alternatives and so far Lemmy does a fairly decent job.

I'm hoping to recapture the old Reddit feel where there was enough content but not so many users where everything just turned into drama or a flame war in the comment section. So far Lemmy seems fairly slow with content but that's probably a good thing for me, I shouldn't be using this stuff to fill my time as much.

Every large company complies with data requests from the government. It is required and the fines for non-compliance are large. The only way around it is not storing anything at all.

This seems like a good spot to ask: is there a way to follow a post and get updates?

This seems like it might end up being an interesting conversation.

Yep, this is my Lemmy request for "how do I get my popcorn ready?"

Often you don't know a crime has been committed at the time, which is why businesses are expected to have data retention periods for legal reasons.

But everyone keeps pointing to any data retention as some sort of big brother boogeyman.

I'm still getting a feel for how all of this works together, so I haven't bothered blocking any communities yet. Were you just seeing those while browsing Local/All? I tend to stick to Subscribed unless I'm going adventuring for new stuff.

Same, my job is like 80% SQL, so it'd be cool to see what is used in the background and maybe help improve things.

Almost every application ever released has had bugs.

Stupid code will always exist.

I just started a Bucs community if you'd like to join: https://lemmy.world/c/tbbuccaneers.

I'm also hoping Rachaad takes the next step, it'll be interesting to see how he handles a heavier workload with Fournette gone.

They would need to remove a lot of features for that to work.

Try The Meal Prep Manual.

It's somewhat annoying in that you need to sign up for a free account to get access to some of the recipes but the macro/calorie sliders are very handy.

I'm not sure if his appearance is weighted in each tier or dungeon type, but he definitely doesn't seem completely random.

I remember not seeing him for a week or two and then saw him several times a day this past week.

Does Barrier get damaged before Fortify?

If so, that makes it a bit more useful.

I would assume so. It sounds like it was intended to increase the damage depending on your weapon, like other skills, but it wasn't. I assume this is a buff for most players but maybe a nerf for players with low item power but high rolls.
