So if you do something you are being irrational and the things you can do without being thrown in jail have no results currently (and are being done to no avail). If you don’t do something you know it’s going to get worse. And then the worse thing you know that’s coming requires really serious counter measures.

Which if you act on timely you will be seen as over reactionary - and the problem. And then everything worse that comes after that will be seen as an appropriate response to the “radical violent and lunatic left”

Most of us in my lefty group are just starting to stockpile food and water. Either it’s full market crash or worse. So. Have the essentials on hand and a method to protect them. Fingers crossed it won’t get to that. But. It probably will.

Favorite so far was the guy who was detained for 12 hours - was a citizen - and had no way to show or prove it because they had taken his wallet on the arrest.

Eventually someone checked the wallet he had and was like “oh shit, guess we won’t be deporting him then”. But they had lined up transport and locations by that point. And were deciding how to manage his possessions.

Millenial here. Never used online dating. Never used arranged marriages. Never used newspapers.

Dated a bunch. Just met and befriended a lot of people through shared areas of interest. Indoor soccer mixed league / gardening group / dog park / dog events at a local shop.

I also wasn’t creepy and bothered people with trying to get a relationship from these events. Just a chatty comical person. And with regular attendance - bumped into similar people over time and eventually did more personal shit with them and felt out why.

Online dating sort of (to me) turns the act of dating into a hobby or even a profession? and then people land these relationships where they expect something out of the other person. “You need a perfect resume with good line spacing and indentation, if you want connection!”

When I just pursued my hobbies and enjoyment areas and bumped into people who mutually enjoyed those things and would just talk about those things. Like at most seek connection to the things you love and do them with people you like. And then build on those connections. That’s what people really want when they log into profiles.

My wife doesn’t love multi day backpacking. But she loves the glimpse of how I am and how we are - during that time.

Our priorities - Stay warm, stay dry, fetch and purify water, hike the right distances to get out with food in hand, packing and unpacking our gear, avoid dangerous wildlife, cook, sleep.

When every day that’s your goal state it’s super simple - stress is actually just a response to things that might kill you again. And not 20 steps away from it. “I might perform poorly, my clothes might not be appropriate for the job, I’m running 3 minutes behind - which may cost me my job, which could be long term, and financially we won’t recover, and then we might lose the house or starve”. Can’t get a general strike to work when the majority of utility workers are magats. The algos target the blue collar industry for this very reason. Look at what the conservative / fascist media arms of your own country are targeting very specifically. Its core services for corporate enablement.
