I got sick of some of the various Invidious instances taking 5+ refreshes to load a video, so ended up installing my own instance and its been a much nicer experience

Ad free is the only way for a service im paying anything for. If they introduce ads then i will no longer be paying.

Combined with container bookmarks extension, it becomes really handy.

Amazon, i can login as my personal or my company account based on the bookmark I click

Social media, different profiles straight in with their bookmark

I manage a few things for my mother, utilities and such, keeping her logins already logged in in a bookmark folder is handy.

Essentially, any time you need to segregate logins / accounts.

I'm not 100% sure on how Lemmy works with federation, but isnt there a risk of illegal content being mirrored to your instance if someone here hits a post from the bad server too ?

Have a look at the **arr range of apps

Sonarr and Radarr with NZBGet, usenet indexer and a cheap unlimited news server provider, and you're laughing. I have everything downloading automagically as soon as its release, loads right into Jellyfin - all on a copyright notice keen ISP and never have any issues because im not sharing anything up, its all down with usenet

You've misread that. When he leaves his home network, he has it switch off wifi to prevent it being picked up by other networks. Probably has it being switched back on by cell tower / similar location option

Blocked reddit on my router, to prevent accidental clickage - no intention of going back there at all

Out of interest, what's the series? (Didnt answer the question as the post an hour ago covers it nicely)
