Photoprism as Google replacement

I am always wary of people using ‘freedom’ as an argument. Most of the time it is followed by ‘because I want …’.

Equality and freedom have to find a balance. I don’t do to others what I don’t want for myself. Even if that is limiting my ‘freedom’.

without paywall

He even signalled before getting off.

I’m using photoprism. It closest to Synology photos. I use nextcloud to automatically upload the pictures but photoprism to view and share them.

Came from Reddit following advice from my dad. He knows nothing of Reddit but follows movements in society. I told him about Reddit and how they treated some developers. He knew about it trough a colleague and asked me if I knew about Lemmy.

I used Reddit mostly for Synology/unraid/memes as a lurker. Now I try to post more 😇

This is a really shitty thing they did. Especially if you have been there so long.

You are probably right but we can try to build something here. It will take a lot of time but the mobile apps are coming and those will help cement the userbase. I’m still using Reddit to find information but not posting there anymore. We have control over what we do even if it has little effect.

I find it criminal that we don't do more. The idea that this will impact our economy is so short-sighted. If we don't do something now, it will be too late for our grand kinds. We can do a lot as a species (look at how fast the vaccines were developed, how much solidarity there was) but the politicians and big corporations are slowing everything down.

I think they can respond. I received a fair number of messages and I could respond to all of them.

Can you send a dm/pm with Lemmy. I have 6 invites…

Same. I feel a bit pressure to post in the hopes Lemmy will grow…

Tired from a great (unexpected) weekend. Last week before we go in vacation mode at work (about half less people working between 1 juli and 20 august). It's even a bit boring...

Slow at work. It will only get slower. Gonna be doing some studying at work. I try to be pro active 😇

Do they change all types of car or just some? So funny

Yeah I was surprised he knew about it. Then again it was picked up by mainstream media (shows how Reddit mis calculated this )

I’m using Memmy. The developer is going really fast. It has the Apollo feel but it ofcourse lacks some features.

Does it also have face detection?

I think we should consolidate. Can someone reach out to the mods of the different communities? Is there a way to merge communities between worlds?
