Probably controversial but half life 2 for me. I got it very cheap on a sale after years of hearing how good it was. Just couldn't get into it. Even worse, every time I felt nauseated after a couple of minutes.

I guess this is just an example of a "you had to be there" scenarios. I was there as a gamer at the time but had no funds to play all the games. I skipped on HL 2 and can't get into it 20 years later.

Worst advice. ChatGPT is not meant for this and can doore harm than good.

This. Objectively, our species is ruining its own habitat consistently for years. A sentient ai would probably see that and remove the cancer in order to preserve the majority of nature

I had the impression reddit was overall less toxic compared to other social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. I always thought that it was the "community" aspect of reddit responsible for this. People want to belong to a community and are generally less toxic towards fellow community members.

Maybe I was lucky in my community selection?

That said, I'm happy to be here instead of reddit... It certainly feels a lot more welcoming!

Welcome! I hope this community grows out to be equal to what we've had at reddit. Since you are here already, my hopes are up!

You guys are doing an awesome job! Valheim quickly became one of my favorite games and I'm looking forward to what the future brings.

Take your time to deliver the quality we've come to appreciate, there's no rush!

Troy, a total war saga. This is my first total war experience and I'm having a blast. Still getting to know all the mechanics though

Interesting. I found ER way easier than Bloodborne. I played Bloodborne first though and was not yet familiar with the genre as much...

I have the same feeling. Using a 5+ year old OP6 and still good battery life and overall performance. The only reason why I want change is because of security updates having stopped already for quite some time. I'm hesitant to jailbreak and install clean android because of banking apps.

Yeah maybe, thanks for the tip.

However, I do feel that, being the groundbreaking tech of that era from which all post games practically were derived, I won't have the same "iconic" experience today as I would have had back then. I feel like I just have to live with the fact that I missed it.

That's okay though. Maybe some games today will be the predecessors and iconic titles of times to come ;).

I thought you meant the taste of roasted beans. Turns out you actually meant coffee. I don't understand why you drink something you hate

I just joined today on Lemmy after the reddit fallout and Baconreader not being an option anymore.

I was already on Mastodon after the Twitter fallout. I made a new account on Lemmy but there seems to be some sort of link? Can anyone explain what the difference is exactly please?

Why skip far cry 1&2? 1 is a little dated yes but iconic in itself. The setting of far cry 2 is one of the most unique in gaming history and it brought some very interesting mechanics into gaming which were revolutionary for that time.

There might be a lot of nostalgia speaking here though. I had so much fun with both games!

Journey before destination my brother

Love the contrast in the weather and lighting.

Accelerated Mobile Pages. Basically a sort of fast-load version of your actual page for mobile use. Something Google came up with to enhance mobile search? It never really got off imo...

There's a lot of room for improvement in your lighting. An HDRI will help tremendously, but darkening your world and increasing the key lights will get you a long way already.

Keep it up

I'm getting into enshrouded with a friend. We've just rescued the carpenter. This game has a lot of promise!

I also finally bought Ori and the Blind Forest. This will be my first metroidvenia style game.

Top random comment!

Also been playing RTM with a friend the past week. Definitely fun but still pretty buggy. TBH it's the sweet spot for us LOTR fans and Survival fans. It's got a bit of both but does not excel in any of them.

I'm willing and happy to try! It certainly looks like a more friendly and respectful concept of web than what we've seen so far with centralized corporations.
