"The U.S. can never defeat the heroic Russian army and people with any latest weaponry or military support,"

This quote is gold.

No, not really. It was his first book that was supremely popular, but it was written for his children. His main body of work (which was later published in part in the Silmarallion) was started in WWI and was never really completed. The Hobbit and then to a far greater extant LotR were pulled into the preceding work.

"Life was funny, and fickle, and often cruel. Sometimes the unworthy went on living, while those who deserved better was lost.

Or not lost, he considered, since they lingered on in the hearts of those who loved them, who love them still, their memory nurtured like a sprig of green in an otherwise desolate soul. Which was, he supposed, a kind of immortality, after all."

Thanks for sharing Saga!

Correct. That would be the mods at Beehaw. However, there are plans in place to refederate at some point in the future. (Basically as Lemmy grows and gets more moderation features.)

So far the community you are referring to has 2 users actively posting, and all of their content is getting down voted to oblivion.

Linus used the semantics that it sold for "charity" ie. "We didn't sell it for money for us! We sold it for someone else's benefit!"

Looks like a mockingbird. (Definitely could be wrong though!) They are known to mob potential threats to get them away from their babies. Unfortunately, looks like mommy and daddy mocking bird view you and your dogs as predators. The good news is that the babies should fledge with a few weeks and you will be free of their wrath.

Old Old is the original Evercade handheld. These are replacing the newer Evercade EXP handheld and VS home console. These are pretty cool and they're a legit company. If you are into collecting I'd recommend checking them out. The cartridges come in plastic cases that remind me of Genesis cases and they include a manual. I don't have any of the main consoles but the Super Pocket which is made by their sister company is also compatible with the Evercade carts.

With a 2Tb card? I suppose if OP wants to download 20 100+gb games they would.

No, I haven't thought about actively preventing the mass murder of people who have more than me.

This nihilistic worldview, expressed by you and the others commenting and downvoting me will kill more than the 1 percenters.

I've already commented on another post with the why and how the dwarves and elves might dislike one another. But to say the Elves would "genocide dwarves and enslave men" if they ruled Middle Earth (spoiler they did rule Middle Earth for a time and none of that occured) is blatantly wrong and antithetical to Tolkien's work.

As a father to a 2 year old. This does not represent my experience of fatherhood/parenthood in the slightest. I see why it might represent others experience though. All I know is, I'm having the time of my life. :)

Tl/Dr dwarves and elves have a complicated history. They do not all hate each other and they do not all love each other.

The elves and dwarves of Tolkiens legendarum have animosity towards one another. But saying "the elves would genocide the dwarves" no, the Elves as a whole would not wish to exterminate the dwarves as a race. There were some among the Noldor (a part of the population of High Elves that left Valinor to reclaim the Silmarils from Morgoth) that believed the dwarves had cheated them. The Dwarves tell it another way, Tolkien is unclear on the truth of the matter. However those dwarves were not the clan of Longbeards. The Longbeards do not come into the tales of the first age. Their halls were east and south of Belariand. In Khazad-Dum.

All that to say the animosity between the elves of Lothlorian and the Dwarves of Khazad-Dum can probably be traced to the fact that most of the Elves present are dark elves/green elves. Who also has their own unrecorded spats with dwarves of different clans. (Also the fact that the dwarves unearthed a balrog probably doesn't help matters)

So yes there is animosity between the two races. But there is also friendship. The elves of Holand and the dwarves of Khazad-Dum were united in friendship. A fact somewhat touched on, in the recent show the Rings of Power. (Although poorly done in my opinion)

Edit a word and some other added context

So we should kill them?

But to answer your question, of course they are not intrinsically more valuable than any other human. Their lives are worth exactly the same as any others. They're the same as those fighting in Ukraine. They're the same as the migrants that died on that ship trying to get to a better life.

This question is flawed. We should be looking at how best to raise the standard of living across the world.
