Plex are banning Hetzner IPs because libraries are hosted there and shared with thousands. I see people are moving to Emby/JellyFin because Plex is trying to become the next Netflix app OS trying to clean up what they see as pirated content

I believe UBI will never come to pass because the rich have too much to lose. Imagine a workforce not beholden to the capitalists?

I live in Spain

The main issue for the left is the right wing press continuously attacks and they don’t have much to counter it. This pushes the swing voters towards the PP (Party Popular) which was in government until brought down by Sanchez in a vote of no confidence following a scandal. PSOE subsequently one an election and governs with other left wing parties.

The left, at least, has Yolanda Díaz. She has united the left that are not PSOE into an alliance called Sumar that’s pushing back hard against the right. She’s a labour lawyer and has done a lot for the working class. Hopefully they’ll remember this tomorrow.

Spain

Overall, probably way better but the future is uncertain and unemployment is terrible. No Spanish governments seem to have the answer to this. We’re far too reliant on tourism and the pandemic hit hard, with some not recovering despite the support given.

No, that was different. eIDAS is certificate based - those that care will just use a VPN to download a non-EU compliant browser build and only surf with the VPN on. At least that’s my plan.

Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, etc. This is because they serve the ads from the same domain as the content

Here in Spain there’s minimal surveillance outside the big cities. My town (circa 40K residents) has no public cameras in town (I lived in the UK and they were everywhere).

I live in Spain. It’s absolutely not true. They’re more akin to the American Republicans that want to limit people’s rights in things like abortion, euthanasia, etc. They’re praise Franco any chance they get

Generally, these are referral only and for people you know IRL, not just online. I’ve never seen any discussion of them

Not everywhere. Here in Spain, we pay a 10€ deposit for a commuter train ticket that is valid for 4 months. Travel on route is then free.

A pre-paid bus card makes journeys that usually cost 1,70€ cost 0,45€

This is because these services are government owned, not private

But it’s not spyware. The eIDAS law proposes that governments can insert certificates that spoof the originator. A subtle difference.

I really hope Mozilla don’t comply
