My mom's husband literally did this. He was wearing a "Trump 2024" hat all through Biden's administration. Then Trump took office and after a month he stopped wearing it and started wearing his second amendment hat and won't make eye contact with me anymore.

I had a run in in the drive thru a couple years back. I pulled into one of the two lanes at McD, and another car went through the second lane. I wait my turn, and then try to pull forward, but the person in the other car was riding up on the bumper of the person ahead of them, like, clearly intentionally making sure there was no room for me to take my turn.

So I roll down my window and call out "Hey, they're gonna get our orders mixed up" and before I'd even finished my sentence the driver GOES BALLISTIC on me. Just screaming "oh my God, really? Really?? Over a burger? Really?? Really? Really??" And I just rolled my window back up. The person drove forward just far enough to keep me from moving ahead, but not far enough to get to the first window to pay. They waited. Waited until the line cleared up. Then they gunned it past the pay window and straight to the food window.

I pulled up to the pay window, rolled mine down and loudly declared "Yeah, could I get my receipt too? I think this person ahead of my is trying to take my food!"

At which point the driver ahead of me peeled out of the drive thru without having received any food.

Window person said that such a tactic had been done a few other times that month by other people.

Fun fact

Before the incident that gave him his scar, the name that Scar's parents gave him was Taka. Which means "Trash".

So yeah, dude maybe had a little right to be vindictive.

Maybe if he didn't just copy Ledger's Joker and behaved anything like Lex Luthor he'd have been better received.

Hollywood needs to wake up and let Billy Zane play Lex Luthor like he was always meant to.

I once worked in a charity providing mental health services to people without insurance, or who wanted to not have their insurance record the service for whatever reasons.

I once had a homeless man that I would see regularly. We set up each appointment at the end of the preceding appointment, because the only other way to get a hold of this person would be to call the fast food place he worked at, during his work hours, which weren't consistent. This man did not own a phone, or any other electronic device. His facebook, and all of his online activity was done at his local library. I emphasize this because I need it to be stressed that there was no way any algorithm could connect his location to mine. There was no way for a system to recognize that his device was near mine, because he did not have a device. There was no way for any of his online habits to be algorithmically connected to mine, at all.

One session, we're speaking. The only devices in our small, sound proofed room, were my cell phone, a digital clock not connected to any system, and a digital camera, turned off, and also not connected to any system. He mentions that he's been contacted by someone who wants him to move to the Phillipines. We briefly discuss flights and work in the Phillipines. Then we move on to other things, yadda yadda, end session.

By the end of the day, I'm getting ads on Facebook for flights to the Phillipines. Freaked me the fuck out because those sessions are HIPAA protected. From then on I kept my phone turned off, and in a completely different room in our building than any of my sessions with any patient. Never ever had it happen again.

Hold up, if that's the crux of his argument, does that mean that his argument is

"I can't be barred from running because I never took an oath to support the constitution. Therefore my inciting insurrection is not covered by this clause. But I totally incited rebellion."?

The goal is to use the word coup often so that the word loses its punch, that way when an actual coup happens people will just shrug when it's reported and think it's just a minor occurrence.

Lmao, how on earth is the loss in faith in news organizations your justification for refusing to endorse a political candidate? It's like he's tone deaf as to why people are losing faith in news organizations.

"People no longer trust news organizations because we prop up this false dichotomy of both political sides being "equal" despite one side being clear and dangerous fascism. In order to try and gather faith in my news organization, I'm going to double down on this and refuse to acknowledge this problem." What a joke.

I work for a mental health crisis line. We are taught, with extremity, to always go for least intrusive intervention possible. We will only ever call Emergency Services after a literal check list to ensure it's the last resort possible.

Practically the only times we ever call EMS on someone is if they tell us they are actively dying this very second, due to injury or overdose, etc. Or if they, after all of our attempts to listen, empathize, talk about what's going on, talk about how they're feeling tonight, work on what options there might be, who in their lives might be able to help, listing resources, and attempting to safety plan; if after all that, they say "yeah, I'm gonna kill myself specifically in this fashion and I'm gonna do it right now, and I have the means available to me." Then hang up and don't answer when we call back. Then we call EMS.

It's drilled into us that EMS is expensive for the person, and potentially dangerous because police are often not great at responding to Mental Health emergencies. So always the last last last resort.

I had a gym teacher who was not really interested in being a gym teacher. He was the varsity football coach and that was where his main focus was. Gym/Health class was basically the bare minimum health information required by curriculum, and then the rest of the time was spent in the weight room. Not even doing like, fun games or anything like that, literally just 'weight room' so that his athletes could just use the hour for their workout time.

One day, after 'weight room' another student who was held back a bit (he had reached maybe 20 y.o. at this point, and hadn't graduated) made a joke about wanting to shower with people. Nobody thought it was funny, we all ignored him. He takes offense to this, and decides to vent that frustration on me. He grabs me by the side of the head, and slams my head into the locker next to me. He does this within full view of the teacher, maybe ten feet away if that. I walk over to the teacher, holding my rapidly bruising face, and repeat to him what happened, literally what he just witnessed.

He looked me in the eyes and said "Yeah, and?" and refused to do anything about it.

I went to the Principal, who didn't do anything. I went to the Vice Principal, who didn't do anything, and then I went to the Dean of Students, who got that kid pulled from class for three days total. The next week I had a sit down with the Principal who apologized for what happened, but was oh so thankful that I was such an understanding kid, and could empathize with my assailant's mental handicaps, and this didn't need to go any further than it did, right?

Shoulda sued.

This is currently happening at my job.

We have one program that does A and B and C and D and E. But for some reason we use it for A and C, but not B and D and E. We don't really do B or E, but we do D and we do that with just spreadsheets and emails.

and then upper management signs us up for a different website and app and thing that everyone has to sign up and make accounts and do training in order to figure out, and this company is handling B for us.

Then they see another new shiny thing and we have to do all of it over again and it's supposed to handle D, which we were already handling in another way, but now have to learn this new way.

And then upper management just fuckin' Mommy Blogs their way into a third and a fourth and a fifth website, service, app, sign up, program, AI, bullshit that we all have to make accounts for, learn how to use, and spam all of our emails, so now we have different services for each thing, A through E, and we're all screaming "why are you doing this?"

Why couldn't we just use the original program that did all of these things?

It honestly reminds me of when I was really little and my mom would hear these 'mom tips' on how to organize chore charts or incentive programs for us as little kids to get us to clean our rooms. Every summer, sometimes twice a summer, she'd sit us all down super duper excited, eyes sparkling, and go "Okay, family, this is how we're running everything from now on. Like this is how our entire family is gonna do this. This is what we're all about now." and then explain some convoluted points system.

It'd last for like two weeks and then we'd go back to just doing what we wanted to do, until Mom got sparkles in her eyes and chased another ineffective system.

Yeah, blue could win everything. They could have a supermajority in both chambers of Congress and pack the Supreme court to have an undeniable majority

And the Democrats would still ensure that no other conservatives see any kind of consequences.
