A similar thing happened in my school with a card game called Euchre. Heaven forbid the students enjoy the small amount of time between bells or in a class once their work is complete.

It really is a beautiful movie. Rock solid cast, charming and funny, but can be absolutely devastating at moments. And the "flowers" might be one of my favorite moments in a movie, full stop. It is so simple, but fits so neatly into their characters.
Does anyone else double-take when you see a Roger Ebert review pop up?
That's a wild question, cause for me and most of the people I know, a fantasy version of myself with double my income would mean not worrying about groceries, maybe a short trip out of the country once a year, being able to pay off debts, and affording some medical procedures that we've been putting off. Maybe saving some money so my kid isn't homeless in a few decades. Not some life of leisure.
To answer your question, though, it would be categorically worse.
Not a single gift, but my MIL has this obsession with keeping things "even" for the holidays so everyone receives the same number of gifts. This inevitable means that everyone receives a set quantity of filler gifts. So I get grouped in with my BILs, who are nice but we are different people. She'll split sock packs between us, bulky shirts that don't fit me, car and garage accessories that I have no use for, etc. I got a single roll of duct tape once. Not even good duct tape, a thin dollar-store roll. I've said so many times I don't need a pile of things to unwrap, that I'd be far happier with just one, thoughtful gift I could really use instead of having to haul a boxful of cheap useless things home. But nope, gotta get those numbers up.
A lot to be said, but I think my favorite little thing was the rust monsters eating scrap for the 1.5 seconds they were on screen. Entirely unnecessary, but showed they put in a good amount of thought to the film.
[7] Eh, it's not inactive. Not as active as reddit, sure. Just kind of a different pace.
Michigan, but I know what you mean.
"I'll take "Least Surprising Revelations" for $1000, Alex." Can't imagine what was being piped directly into his ears for years.
I'm glad he's chosen to do the safe thing. He's done so much for the industry, sacrificed so much so freely. He's my #1 GOAT, but I don't want him in a match ever again.
Between this report and him trying to claim the series got confused about kayfabe yesterday, it's gotta get nasty. I've already read a lot from various books, so I'm curious how much new info they have.
Holy shit, they actually did it
Nintendo has historically been slow to change and, more specifically, innovation. They also have been fairly antagonistic when it comes to fan interactions in terms of things like streaming, fan games, and porting old games. On the flip side, they do a pretty decent job with quality control. The "entertainment" field is already pretty bloated with lots of things competing for time. Regardless of success, I'm sure they'll be trying to squeeze every nostalgia penny they can out of customers.
Ah, the old ways. Nature takes it's course [2] and climbing
I don't think there is anything that could've been said to justify attacking a coworker.
Thankfully didn't lose power, but our sump pump has been going off practically nonstop. Our house is on relatively high ground, but even so our yard was thoroughly soaked even yesterday. Best of luck to folks, it might be rough.
Holy fuck, can't you just leave your Christofascist bullshit at the border?
Ric is going to die in the ring and, at this point, I don't really care. I'm going to feel way worse for whatever poor bastard he convinces to wrestle him because it'll be on his hands, and even worse if it's a class act like Ricky. His last match should've been Shawn, and it was arguably the best sendoff that any wrestler of his caliber could have had. I know I'm probably preaching to the choir here. Why would anyone go along with this?
There's virtually no media without ads anymore. I can mostly stomach it if the content is free and the ads are not intrusive. But now it's normal for paid content to have ads. There are ads in full price video games. Advertisements have infected everything to the point it is malignant.
More specifically to wrestling, ads have been a major aspect as long as I can remember (thanks for trying to shove Stacker 2 down my throat as a minor), but at least paid events were limited to a logo during replays or animations at the top of the show. The state now is just excessive and it's gunna get worse before it gets better.
I don't play Magic, but that issue definitely overlaps with tabletop gaming. Early into my start into the hobby, I played in a public campaign at my FLGS and the whole table was kind of sad stereotypes. Thankfully on my way out that night, I met some other folks who were looking for another player in their private game and they were all more socially adept, sanitary, and welcoming.
thanks for using Leebra!
