I hope it was a genious piece of code that was miles ahead of what it replaced.

And still it got rejected 😄

I'm sorry, but this is a silly statement. This is by no means an ADHD thing. It's a pattern understanding or logic

I'm trying to teach my kid this. Not to use this specific method for addition, but recognize and understand patterns in math.

I'm not saying a parent knows your inner feelings, but I am saying that after watching repeat behaviour patterns you notice stuff. And with younger kids they don't really connect these dots. So yeah, to some extent we do know our kids better than they do

But this all has limits. And expiration dates.

I'm sure the artist intended to be smart and use metric time as something silly.

The problem is he used regular time.

60 * 60 * 24=86400=>86.4 kseconds where k stands for 1000. Like kilo for 1000 grams. Kilometer for 1000 meters etc.

The comic doesn't make sense...

IKEA furniture are not bad at all. 40 years ago or was a standing joke, but the quality has quintupled since then.

You can of course buy the cheapest of cheap in IKEA and it will be less comfortable than the more expensive ones, but couches from IKEA are good.

Hell, most other furniture brands delivers their furniture flat packed as well. It's just easier to build IKEA since they have gotten the instructions down to a t.

When I saw the story about furniture doctor here the other day it just seemed so dumb. Buy flat packed furniture sand assemble it on your living room. Or get the furniture doctor to assemble it, then you don't have to cut it open with power tools....

In short - IKEA and Wasa ftw!!

No. We can't have trigger warnings for everything as there is always someone who might be triggered by something. Real or fake.

Some triggers can be universally agreed upon.

It is of course horrible that you have had experiences that can cause discomfort from seeing a picture, reading a book, watching a film. I do not know your backstory.

I do however have my own experience feeling discomfort from a seemingly "normal" thing. My father died and in order to get my mind off this event I went to watch (I believe) Bad Guys 2 where there is a scene where dead bodies were used to smuggle cocaine. It was I a humorous setting as most Will Smith movies are. I didn't care for it then and felt discomfort - even though Weekend at Bernie was hilarious when I watched it 15 years prior.

My point is right as I felt discomfort and was triggered, I simultaneously understood that everybody else in the cinema at the same time I was there did not feel this way. It was a unique experience for me at that point in time. I can't expect everyone else to walk over eggshells around me, especially if they do not know me.

A former colleague of mine was after 10 years as a widow still triggered if someone mentioned something in the vicinity of drowning as this was his horrible death. It was obviously difficult for her, but to expect colleagues (new and old) to never mention something that could trigger her for 10 years is over the top. As horrible as it is. People die, and you have to work on it. You can't expect the rest of the world to do the work for you.

Which circles back to you. We can't have trigger warnings on everything because you have had a horrible experience. You have to work on it. We do not. Especially as we do not know you.

For you its guns. For someone else it could be an axe. Or powder or a large syringe. Or a bottle of whisky. Everyday objects can't have trigger warnings.

A shotgun is an everyday object, even if the barrel in the picture is pointing towards you. I think most objects or topics should not have trigger warnings, but that's a different topic.

But I do hope you get better and help to deal with your triggers. Best of luck!

Early termination fees are not that horrible. They can give you a monthly cost where some of the costs for installing it might be distributed over they contact period. Fine and ok

But i should still be able to cancel my contract without jumping through 11 loops and queues.

If you sign up for a given contract, that's what you have agreed upon. It sucks if you only have one option and they can set a ridiculous price. So if you want to regulate pricing, that's a different matter. Cancelling is something else altogether.

Well.... It's not "Norway has a map of murders", but a newspaper in Norway has made a map of murders in Norway.

I take it chatGPT does not give you windows 10 codes if you ask about it directly? You just have to trick it a little OG Grandma style?😅

Just curious, you do know that such a rule would eventually reduce the human race to nill? Natural and unnatural deaths requires 2,X to remain at same level.

Btw, you should watch the British series Utopia

It's always fun to listen to some Americans labelling Dems as commies.

This is obviously not the same view as OP, but based upon the comments I thought I could throw a light on where "the world" places Dems and Republicans on the wold political scene. Ish...

I wonder what would happen if you opened fire against these attempts? If you are not identifying yourself as law enforcement, one would fear for ones life and could open fire and protect oneself?

This is the quote:

"I don't see any scenario where they're responsible for less than 10% of the value destruction, so around $4 billion."

In my head, he is comparing the minimum size of ADLs value reduction to be 10% or 4 billion. 10% of 44 billion is 4,4 billion. In this comment he is not saying anything about the current value except that 10% of 44 is around 4.

How else can you read it?

In Norway having loads of credit cards is negative for getting a house loan as it is potential debt that goes against your payment ability for the house loan.

Meaning we do have a credit score system for getting loans and more stuff on various credit solutions, but credit cards works against larger loans.

Which can be a pain in the ass when you want to buy a house/apartment and have credit cards that might deny you the last bit of money to win the bidding war...

A lot og questions can be answered diplomatically and show that you are able to handle yourself:

Q: do you like the colour red?

A1: I hate red

A2: I don't like red

A3: Not my favourite colour

A4: I prefer blue

In this entirely made up and pointless exercise you hate red and are asked if you like it. Real world applications converging on zero.

On a scale of lie to truth, where are you comfortable with representing your thoughts of red in an interview?

And remember, only Sith deals in absolutes🙃
