I had a coworker approach me on break and start telling me about a book he was reading and how much he was enjoying it. Towards the end, he mentioned struggling with it and that he wished someone had told him how great reading was earlier. We were both damn near 30, and it was a YA novel. I resisted the asshole urge to roast him because, shit, at least he's trying?

Anybody who thinks that behavior is rude is a busy body snake and is best avoided, regardless.

I would just ignore this as well. If some foreign government that I have zero ties or interests with sent me fines, they'd go in the trash/spam filter. They have zero ability to enforce them. Wasn't it Russia and Google where Russia claimed Google had to pay some absurd multi-trillion dollar fine that exceeds all of the world currency? Kick rocks.

Very true. Hopefully, he still enjoys reading today.

You know, this doesn't sit right. Calling music "gay" for nebulous reasons, such as featuring vocals by women, is counterproductive. Hell, many of those tracks were national hits and there's no way they got there if they were only enjoyed by people in the lgbtq+ community. The "target" here may be Vance, but the message being sent is that straight men can't and shouldn't enjoy certain types of music. This is middle school (from when I attended at least) bullshit and reinforces toxic masculinity.

That shit is stupid and dangerous. Also, nothing that jackass said made any sense. If this wasn't about sexual harassing women or shitting on women's sports, then why chose the WNBA? Even if that statement is sincere, how could you not be aware that this would cause individuals who do hold those views to participate? Fuck crypto clowns.

Makes me reconsider being an organ donor. They were trying to "euthanize" him to sell his organs. This was attempted murder for profit.

I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen an assassination by drone from a nonstate actor yet. It's cheap, would subvert many of the protections aimed at stopping shooters, and security likely wouldn't react in time or have the equipment to effectively stop it.

Honestly, this whole thing is hilarious. My interest was limited to start with after 2042. Now it doesn't matter because I can't play anyway (I'm not playing a shooter on console). Furthermore, it's apparently a pain in the ass for Windows users, too. The incompetence is really incredible to watch.

I am absolutely bewildered to hear that democrats are following in the republicans footsteps! Unimaginable!

I assumed it was ai because the style is much older, yet you could not only see those ankles, but all of her legs. Absolutely scandalous.

Stanford is private with an endowment over $35 billion and charges $25 grand per semester for graduate programs. I'm not interested in my tax dollars funding a private college primarily for rich assholes.

That ad campaign was not about Gaza, it didn't even resemble anything close to bodybags. It looked like messy artists in a studio. That whole bit was much ado about nothing.

Yeah, this battle is, unfortunately, lost. It is now too late to stop what is coming. Keep in mind that the effects we're witnessing are from emissions 10-20 years ago, and the global total continues to rise and will likely continue for the foreseeable future. If you haven't yet, don't procreate. If you have already, don't continue to.

As an American, I have no love for my country or its history. Europeans and their descendants around the globe, however, are quite hypocritical when it comes to the US. They have their own horrendous histories and currently do terrible things around the globe. They love to point to the US to take attention off of themselves, all while they enjoy taking US money and benefiting from the protection the US military industrial complex affords them. These benefits allow them to do wonderful things for their citizens, all while my brethren are held in bondage, murdered by the state and white supremacists, and homeless/ starving in our streets. It isn't too dissimilar to slave bonds. Europe condemned American slavery all while participating in the "slave bond" trade. Now they are all in a tizzy and butt hurt because the clown ass president said some mean things and started economic slap fights that primarily harm Americans. All that to say, anyone complaining about the US that isn't from Latin America, Africa, or certain Asian countries is just a hypocritical toddler throwing a tantrum.

It costs $100k, operating the vehicle as intended causes parts to fall off, rain will disable it, and it's incapable of leaving the pavement. Every one they managed to sell has been recalled. There's no way it dethrones the hilux, which is dependable, cheap, readily available, and well proven offroad, in combat. I know musk isn't too bright, particularly when his pride is involved, but he'd be a bigger fool than I believed him to be if he restarts production on the cybertruck. Frankly this reads like some backroom "advertising" deal with the Trump administration to con people into changing their minds about or, more likely, to drum up interest among nonstate actors so Tesla can make bulk sales to offload the current stock. "Ooh, the largest airforce in the world is concerned about this commercially available vehicle made out of glue and sheet aluminum with a built in explosive pack just waiting for a detonator!" Product costs money to hold and they're in the hole bad.
