Many leftists in position of privilege should reevaluate the discrepancy between their idealism and their lack of support for material changes to the present material reality. Sure, it is easy to be part of the global north and believe in their own "freedom" (mostly the absence of violence afflicted to their socioeconomic class), while at the same time being part of exploiting and bombing the global south.

If we are going to be idealists, ask this: How many lives are lost every day due to the free exploitation of labour? How many people starve in a world of plenty or are outright killed in conflict over ownership of resources? Opposing material change is the idealist condoning murder of the innocent proletariat due to the aesthetics of action looking bad. This is the liberal perceived moral high ground.

Declaring that we have democratically decided to have an age limit for social media means that we have laid the groundwork for collective action. True democratic culture lies not in bourgeoisie domination (as many Americans like to believe), but rather in mutual trust and cooperation in order to solve common and big problems.

The only reason costs of houses are so high in the first place is because they are lucrative investment objects, along with the fact that the most important part of city (and rural) planning, building homes, is largely left to private companies. There is about 8.1 billion people in the world. Assuming romantic cliches to be true and that we all have exactly one soulmate out there, we would have a very hard time sifting them out. If you were to use exactly one second at meeting a person it would take you 257 years to meet everyone alive on earth at this moment, which due to human life span being significantly shorter and the influx of new people makes the task essentially impossible without a spoonful of luck. Moral of the story: If you believe you have found your soul mate, be extra kind to them today.

So the statement is a bit faulty, not only because of the relative low amount of calcium in our bones, but also because it appears as a mineral. We distinguish between salts and metals because of their chemical properties being quite different (solubility, reflectiveness, electrical conductivity, maleability and so on).

Many of these have C-bindings for their libraries, which means that slowness is caused by bad code (such as making a for loop with a C-call for each iteration instead of once for the whole loop).

I am no coder, but it is my experience that bad code can be slow regardless of language used.
