but it's asking a little much of users to start direct dowloading apks or whatever

you don't need to be manually downloading apks. get a proper app store, like f-droid, and install jerboa that way.

I don't get it though. uploading apps to the play store has already required devs to prove their identity for quite a long time.

I’m very interested in the Slate truck, which might be the only exception. I don’t want a pickup but I do want the lack of gadgets and surveillance they promise

that is not the future that musk is selling

I read this as implying whwt I say does not make sense:

Sue a transistor, see how it conducts itself.

Ok. Then stay there. You wouldn't want to come into such an uncivilized place with all of us savages anyway. Problem solved for you.

now that is correct.

Without you paying him he wouldn't be able to keep the business running

oh they must he running on such a thin profit margin even the boss is starving. I'm so sad for him. he is just not able to pay a better wage.

but still coming in here and making me serve you for free

you shouldn't be serving anyone for free. your employer should be paying you for your work. but you are being exploited by your owners. they are very happy they can cheap out on you.

why wouldn't I hate both of you?

because it's not the customer's job to pay for your work. that's the job of your boss. no other industry accepts anything else than that. and then also consider that there are places that manage to be even worse where the boss requires all tips to be handed over.

your owners have done a great job into brainwashing you to divide your own kind with hate. they can be proud of you. don't expect any bonus though.

Your targets never leave your PC

how can that be true if the whole thing relies on sending the infos to the API providers?

And does that apply to taxes, which also aren't included in the menu price?

in civilized societies all taxes and everything are included in the price you will be required to pay. civilized societies don't rely on hidden costs to wear down their people. though on this latter part, the plague is already spreading from the US...

Is it because you want to pinch pennies, and you can choose to not tip but have to pay tax, and deep down you know you're only fucking over the employee but have to sanitize your conscience so you can save 20% on your bill?

you have to understand this. It's not the pesky filthy consumer that scews you. It's your employer. but sure, it's easier and even pleasurable to hate the small person, than your owner.

the difference is false advertising. being able to know prices upfront and being able to make a fair decision on where to eat.

it is so weird this is not common sense.

I think Mozilla sees there is a bigger userbase interested in AI features than the userbase distancing themselves from it. and they need to be doing something to grow the market share because they are disappearing.

I don't know whether it's a good path for them. what I know is that thanks to volunteers like librewolf, I can continue using a browser on my terms.

on smart TVs and such Youtube ads are blocked by using a special youtube app. there is SmartTubeNext for AndroidTV, NewPipe for Android, there is an adfree patched version of the normal youtube app (only available through the Homebrew Channel app catalog, or via manual install). there's probably something like that for Samsung too. but maybe you could also use Freetube through the PC, or the youtube website with uBlock aorigin on Firefox.

because the point of my example is that neither case works like that. you can't sue weapons, you sue those who commanded their use. you can't sue transistors.. and what does that mean? it means you sue those that commanded the use of AI assisted weapons.

common sense, really.

I hope you'll also happily live in an era where the powers discriminate against you, and try to eradicate you. the only comforting thought you will have, is there is no going back.

The technology exists, the business model is successful at a small scale, so they just need to scale

could you provide details on that?

So we've once again got too much money chasing too few investments.

maybe it's time to redistribute that too much money. lets free them from their burden.

According to Google, it uses somewhere between 645 and 650 GWh annually, compared to between 150 and 204.4 Terawatt-hours (TWh) for Bitcoin.

sure but it's also a much smaller operation
