I'll say just one thing:

Every single one of you assholes who wouldn't shut up about him stepping down since the dude missed the toilet bowl fifty years ago after a particularly wild night out better sure as fuck step up now that Old Joe has stepped down.

A sitting god damned President of the United States has stepped aside less than half a year before reelection. Make no mistake: The man swallowed his pride and ego HARD to make this decision. Let's honor that by creating a wall of votes so god. damned. thick. Riley Reid would gasp.

I'll say this: Grabbed a free month of Prime through Google Play. Went to cancel it before it charged me again and I had so much trouble figuring out how I decided that I couldn't be the only one and ended up Googling it.

You couldn't quit in the Google Play Store. It wasn't even listed.

It wasn't any form of subscription or listed as a membership on Amazon.

You couldn't end it by following QR codes or links supplied to you on Amazon itself.

It wasn't in your Amazon profile or Google profile.

The ONLY WAY to cancel it was by scanning the QR code, following the link, clicking on a "Contact Support" button, clicking on another button under "Help Topics" that said, "How to end your Prime Membership", and finally you were taken to a page where you could actually end it. Obfuscated like a motherfucker.

Been saying it since that terrible debate showing from Biden, though at the time I thought Biden might be able to make a turnaround so I was talking about him:

The only way they're going to make up ground is by putting politeness behind them. They need to be firm, acknowledge the wrongs, call out the bs, and just generally play hardball. That's the current need and I'm glad both Harris and Walz appear to understand this.

It should be noted that through all this people fought for those rights. So don't fall asleep, dear America, because organizing even within small communities will make a difference.

If done correctly, massive change can happen. Dream big so that those who fear negotiate back down to the levels you'll accept.

Mods 108 communities?

What we have here, sir and/or madam, is a Reddit mod. Excessive modding, a smell you can't quite place, same techniques.

Gotta say: I was hoping we wouldn't be followed by that type.

I'll tell you all a secret:

Win this for us all and we can do almost the same thing. In four years we could make voting easier. We could collectively push to end gerrymandering and implement a fair and true foundation for a stronger and better system. If Trump and his cronies truly believe they can take down everything that has been built, I bet we can begin building a better tomorrow through the action of each of us as individuals, working together towards a more positive future.

Let's pay to deliver our future and not get robbed to repeat the past.

In this thread: Depression and angry, and misplaced comparisons.

This doesn't change what we need to do, folks. Get Biden back in and use those four years to stay together and fix this bullshit. That's the goal. I think we ARE angry enough to finally achieve something like it.

Which, btw, he's an idiot for not just staying quiet and letting people praise him. Imagine for a moment he took the ridiculous wealth he has and kept quietly pointing it at things that help everyone. He would have been beloved and had more influence than he does now. All of it probably costing him less. Alongside many other reasons, this fucking dumb as shit shift he made makes me want to crush him and Trump even more.

Cause like wtf, Musk? You had a clear and easy path to all the power and prestige and recognition you could have ever wanted by helping the world. Instead, you turned into an asshole.

To my knowledge there have been people here on Lemmy stating that it would be best if he stepped down. Oh gentle Canadian neighbors:

Whaaat is happening up there, my dudes?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groom_of_the_Stool

The Groom of the Stool (formally styled: "Groom of the King's Close Stool") was the most intimate of an English monarch's courtiers, initially responsible for assisting the king in excretion and hygiene.

The physical intimacy of the role naturally led to his becoming a man in whom much confidence was placed by his royal master and with whom many royal secrets were shared as a matter of course.

The office developed gradually over decades and centuries into one of administration of the royal finances, and under Henry VII, the Groom of the Stool became a powerful official involved in setting national fiscal policy, under the "chamber system".[1][2]

She'd had done fine if she did three things:

  1. Continued the initial push of laying her foot into the collective asses of the MAGA collective. That first month or so was great and Dems needed that energy.

  2. Gone against Biden and condemned the situation in Gaza AND remind everyone that Ukraine is still going.

  3. Not listened to the idiot Dem "strategists" who seem so fucking convinced that courting modern Conservatives is a good idea.

Had she done these three things and even the shit communications of the Dems could not have stopped the word of mouth and internet celebrity status she would have had.

Wait wait, I remember a guy who was constantly arguing and berating everyone about how Biden was just the worst Satan reincarnation or some shit and how we all needed to band together against both him and Harris. Oooh @HomerianSymphony , you still around, bud?

We'd like an interview.

I do that shit when I have a web interview. Put up a guitar just visible in the camera, a small bookshelf, a floor lamp, make sure my tennis bag is visible despite not playing in ages...

Whether they realize it or not, people do take this stuff in. Not sure why some algorithm based on these very same interviews wouldn't do the same.

Yeah, sorry, no room for pity. Shit's on the line. I'll mourn the passing of his sanity when we get past the current hurdle, and the sub-hurdle of another January 6th, after the various hurdles caused by little pseudo-orange asshats causing voting issues nationwide.

I actually want to get into IT. I like tech, don't mind dumb situations, and enjoy helping people, and doubly so if it's sarcastically helping people. Fucking shame every company wants like fourteen degrees and your first born for a level 1.
