Maybe not, but I think we can do better than this unapologetic Kremlin suck up.

Remind me, what does the R in BRICS stand for? What world could we possibly be in that this is within 100 miles of being an unbiased source? Pure Russian propaganda and lies, plain and simple, and barely even worth the effort to refute.

Fucking stupid. Will tie up new hulls for years while all the redesign work is accomplished, causing our existing hulls to need to stay in service (USS Nimitz is already over 50 years old), and costing billions more than improving the EMALS system would ever cost. Yet another move I can only interpret as being intended to kneecap the Navy (and yet more treason).

So the two systems are completely different. Classic steam cats use the steam generated by the propulsion plant to pressurize the catapults and propel planes off the carrier. EMALS uses the steam generated by the propulsion plant to generate electricity to launch planes similar to a railgun (as I understand it; might be wrong but the core concept is there). You can't really have both, and retrofitting is costly and expensive, because now you need to be able to transport the steam to the right place, be able to contain the steam, etc. and that is not to mention any issues with whether or not the propulsion plant can produce the steam required to operate the cats. I have a hunch electricity generation is more efficient from a steam use perspective than steam cats.

Good. The only thing better would be to not replace the Lincoln and end this stupid fucking ego war. Why do we even maintain 11 carriers if we never swap them out after reasonable deployments? First Ford, now Lincoln, and I'll bet the GW ends up there for another year. Absolutely ridiculous.

If you are in an industry where an emergency at 2 am cannot wait until 0900 (or whenever shift starts in the morning), fucking pay a swing shift to be there. Or fairly compensate your employees for calls off the clock. Either way, stop expecting free labor from your employees. And if your business can't afford to exist without fairly compensating those who work for it, then your business should not exist.

"Sooner or later this will end in agreement," was Putin's message, arguing that Nato was coming to realise that defeating Russia on the battlefield would be impossible.

Does Putin realize that NATO is effectively fighting Russia with both arms tied behind it's back right now? We're funding Ukraine (who are doing a phenomenal job, fwiw), but we're not even giving them the top of the line hardware. If the US actually got involved, Russia would pretty much instantly lose any glimmer of air superiority they have, and Ukraine could advance all the way to Moscow under NATO air cover. Like, the only reason Russia still exists is because NATO hasn't even tried to fight Russia on the battlefield yet.

As much as I detest SpaceX and the literal child in charge of the company, their craft at least has a track record of safely bringing astronauts to and from the ISS. Boeing doesn't even have that.

a consumer may easily misunderstand the consequences of canceling and it may be imperative that they learn about better options

See, if it's easy to cancel, then a consumer can leave your service, try something else, and then cancel that and come back if they don't like the alternative.

Also, imperative for who? Your bottom line?

Jesus christ you know it's bad when you agree with John fucking Bolton. Those two are, at best, treasonous Russian assets.

Now, now, they didn't prove it's a scam. They just proved it would be cheaper and potentially safer to take out an illegal, maybe mafia backed payday loan to outright buy the equivalent computer. And you'd own the machine at the end of the day

Basically, DoD schools benefit from a high level of funding, strong and consistent leadership, and a focus on across-the-board improvement. Now when can we roll this same attitude and funding out to all the public schools in this country?

This man is doing great work. In addition to the bills he signed so recently, I was interested to learn that Illinois bans libraries from banning books! That's awesome! He's making Illinois look more and more attractive to live in!

Ordinarily, I might agree. However, this suspension is because musk refused to appoint a legal representative for the company in Brazil, IAW Brazilian law. That's a reasonable ask for a company that's actively doing business in the country. If a billionaire* crybaby refuses to follow the law, then he gets to deal with the consequences. FA meet FO.

A lot of cities/municipalities started limiting the number of Airbnbs in their jurisdictions, or in some cases banning them altogether as a way to fight rising housing costs.
