I’m so grateful the DT lives on. I don’t have a large social circle and it really helps seeing friendly faces/ usernames with lil chats & updates. 🖤

Met the BF’s friends last night & it was a fun time & I felt so welcomed 🥹
After pushing through to finish out the work day (bossy boss & my last day before a week off), I found and booked in with the Richmond Priority Primary Care Centre, to have my increasingly painful ear looked at. Now have confirmation of an infected ear.
That clinic takes in urgent cases that can be handled without going to emergency, and was such a great alternative given all the standard GPs seemed to have closed for the weekend. They were super easy to book in with via HotDoc. Highly recommend.
Also, my (newish) BF is being really sweet and is offering to postpone our plans for tomorrow so he can just make me dinner and take care of me 🥹
Stretching on the balcony in the sun after the dog walk this morning was so nice. I then had a cuddle with the dog & watched the clouds wash over the sky. So meditative.
I’ve missed the DT for a few days.
Been trying to deal with this ear infection (ongoing since Thursday). GP is switching me to anti-fungal treatment (gross to think about). I’m so frustrated over the ongoing pain, lack of sleep & blocked hearing.
This was also meant to be my first week off work in 8 months (and I’d planned to be job searching to escape my toxic workplace). Thinking of returning to work likely still dealing with this ear BS makes me cry.
I'm so glad I managed to get my Autism diagnosis a few years ago, and have learnt so many things about myself in the process. It made it so much easier to handle a work situation today with the office building incorrectly cranking the heating despite an already warm day, and armed with the knowledge that my neurodiversity includes not being able to regulate temperature well, I was able to self-advocate and used sick leave to travel home before I was feeling too unwell. I may still have a migraine depending on how I bounce back, but it will hopefully be less severe than if I had remained in the office the full day.
So strange to me that several managers, executives, and a health and safety officer all commented about the high temps in the office, and no one did anything about it. Similar thing on the tram home; air conditioned, but all the windows were open and people just looked at me strangely when I closed the ones at my seat. I just don't understand people sometimes.
Have the sads. Went out and picked up a giant Aldi tiramisu. Cos at least then it’s sads but with tiramisu.
Phew. Finally finished and sent off a job application….first one in a while that I’ve put a decent effort into. Would love to move on before I’m told to cover my old colleagues vacant role for no extra pay🤞🏻
Ugh. A marketplace scam I didn’t anticipate: Buyer collects, but then later claims some issue/ reason for a refund while they re-list and on-sell the item. They hope to cash in on getting the refund as well as selling the item.
I’ve reported them. But it’s still very concerning that they have made physical threats. Bloody lowlife.
There is a specific type of joy in being able to reply to an REA’s email, declining a rental increase because they’ve already done so in the previous 12 months.
The anarchist in me wanted to just leave it, wait for them to complain about an underpayment in 3 months and then point out their notice was void so they would have to re-issue and wait another 90 days for the increase to come into effect. But when it’s housing security at risk, I’ll keep that to just a daydream.
Edit: REA responded defensively, blaming a system error and didn’t update the notice. shrug
I have the same with my guy & I tested the water by just saying what I wanted to talk about as I figured I could more easily just say my peace rather than asking him to change. It has pretty much self-resolved as he listens and then engages and asks clarifying questions.
It’s kinda been nice to realise it’s okay to talk about myself without prompting. I can see it really assisting with open communication between us.
Hope you work something out that suits you too. 🖤
It says they asked the community tho…but the subreddit had been locked and there’s no poll. Unless it was on discord.
Uggghhhhh my ASD brain hates this. Why can’t they just be clear about what’s happening. Might just stay here.
Was craving carbs like crazy, so cooked up a bunch of spuds and made some mash with cheese and slow cooked onions. Absolutely hit the spot.
First interview in my new job search and it was soooo bad. Too many red flags to accept of an offer was made. Bit sad, but also hopeful it pushes me in the right direction!
I moved to Melbourne from interstate 15 years ago. I have to move house (to downsize) in a few months, but nowhere feels right. Just picking a suburb has been paralysing.
Over the last couple of weeks a few things have made me think of returning to my home state. Recent discussion with family has solidified it. I’m going home.
It’s going to be weird not saying anything about it IRL till it’s settled.
Thanks to the DT for microwave potato hype; this tip meant the dinner I made for friends tonight was on time (and delicious) 🖤
I'm kind of loving the attention on state government tender process (whether lead by liberal or labor, the process is the same). Finance admin specialist staff have disappeared from the units/ departments I've worked in over the last few years, and the finance/ procurement process is often pushed onto people who lack experience in these areas. I'd raised it with management and the union, but there's no legal requirement for staff handling those roles to have any set experience or training.
I keep being woken up; wimdy or earthquake? Either way I wish it would settle down!
Maybe try layering it on top of a dry towel (like flat drying knits), to help pull the moisture out?
Hello! I’m here 🖤
