Removal of all benefits of civilization to... own the libs?

I don't get it. People are working for free to add a feature to your product which might move more people to buy said product. Make users who use external features acknowledge some waiver that your company is not responsible for damage. If it turns out to be really good, you can fork it, hire the original inventor and turn it into a paid product. Isn't that a risk-free win? Am I missing something?

This is great. It suddenly feels like the internet of 2003 again, with small communities popping up, competition and less of a corporate chokehold. Only this time they have a shared login and crosstalk, which was sorely lacking back then. If we are lucky this event might establish a stable, new part of the internet, which is separate from the consolidated platforms. The Fediverse doesn't have to replace sites like reddit, just be a next step for people fed up with the corporate net (corponet?).

Ich wünsche mir dass sich Lemmy so etabliert dass es nützlich wird und wenigstens parallel zu reddit existieren kann. Deswegen bleibe ich hier bis das geschieht oder Lemmy ausstirbt. Aber das ist seit langem die beste Chance für einen Split vom corporate-Internet, um zurück zu den Ursprungsidealen des Internets zu gehen. Aber Idealismus wird nicht reichen. Das Fediverse mut gut genug sein und ausreichend viele Nutzer müssen bleiben.

Gibts irgendwo ne Aufstellung wie sich die Kosten zusammensetzen? Ich hab den Eindruck alle jammern die Preise gehen hoch, aber wo genau das Geld hinfließt wird kaum angesprochen. Big Drehspieß? Tausend kleine Posten? Was ganz anderes?

Es ist natürlich ein Bundesforum!

Fahre jetzt drei Jahre eine Renault Zoe in der Stadt und auf Roadtrips (~4500km). Probleme damit:

• Im Winter leider 1/3 weniger Reichweite
• Wenn man lange Strecken fährt, muss man wissen wo es Lücken im Ladenetz gibt. Das kann unerfahrene E-Autofahrer in Probleme bringen.
• Es fehlt ein Navi dem ich manuell sagen kann wieviel Akku gerede noch verfügbar ist und welches dann die Route an von mir ausgewählte Alternativen anpasst, ohne dass ich anhalten muss. Oder das dann warnt wenn es doch eng wird. Leider behandeln fast alle Navis und Apps das Fahren noch wie Verbrennerfahren, also mit fixen Zielen ohen Flexibilität.
