Nonviolent Communication is really powerful in giving a procedure and structure to handling conflict in conversation. I am am greatful for discovering it.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Marshall Rosenberg. I find that hearing the author's own emphasis and pacing of their words helpful in digesting the ideas.
I also recommend Oren Jay Sofer & Joseph Goldstein's Say What You Mean. It has some very practical tips that helped me bring more mindfulness into my conversations.
I should really revisit both of these books.

Text books are often published separately in Southeast Asia and sold for much cheaper than in the west. They are often paper back and printed on thinner paper but the content is the same. Check out Abebooks or BookFinder.com
I am hopeful for small modular reactors (SMR's). They have the potential for significant construction cost savings, are less of a risk from terrorism/disaster, and can often be located closer to the load (long power lines lose power).
I am very familiar with this Heriarchy of Controls for my work designing the power system. We care deeply about public and worker safety. And then traffic engineers throw it out the window when they design our roads? It is very frustrating to see. Motonormativity at work.
This is a great explanation. I do hope someone picks this up because it provided a lot of value to the community.
For me, the biggest loss is the hardened Firefox-derived browser, Mull. Is Fennec with some custom settings the next best option? I know Vanadium is a good option but based on Chromium.
I spent the day looking for a desktop app that does this and finally found Scribus. The fact that most desktop Linux PDF readers and editors cannot do this satisfactorily does not make me hopeful that such an app exists for Android.
All the trolley bus routes were originally streetcar routes built out a century ago. Tbh I'm not aware of them ever installing new trolley bus routes.
Trolley lines are going to be expensive to install and maintain. Even without fast chargers they still need similar equipment to convert to DC for the trolley wires.
A quick search gave me a TransLink report which probably has some good details: https://www.translink.ca/...
My film recommendation: The Florida Project. It follows a young girl and her single mother struggling to make it in Kissiimee, Florida (where Disney World is). Most of us would think living beside Disney World would be amazing but there is a darker underside of poverty. I have heard the film described as 'poverty porn' but I thought it was a fair depiction.
I love slice of life films and this is one of my favourites.
