They also received far more abuse than usb cables. We don't generally anchor one end of a usb cable and then walk around erratically for hours everyday within the range of the cable (and now and then pushing it) with the device on the other end of the cable.

Those cables _were_engineered for more abuse.

Interesting.

Though it didn't strike me when reading this article, I read a second article on theverifiedpost and the marks of AI writing were all over it. Just an FYI for those that care about this.

Right, a stack that was itself read-only would be hard to use! :^D C definitely lets you modify the things in the stack. (Ah the fun of bugs where you accidentally overwrite other shit on the stack!) I don't know Rust, but it would not surprise me if Rust only had immutable things on the stack.

I'm drawing on some old memories here, so I could be mistaken, but I don't think the stack is read only, not in C anyway or in the underlying machine code. If it is faster it has to do with greater overhead needed managing the larger heap and perhaps being more efficient to push and pop with small offsets to a local stack frame vs large absolute addresses.

Never even mind the quantity issue. The idea of plugging thoughts from "the cloud" into my head is horrifying. You really want to be free-basing the shit on the internet that already makes you feel dumber just by reading / watching it?

I don't think they are the same category of thing. Ocean is a design system. Breeze is a theme.

Edit: now I'm less sure. This seemed to say it is both a style and a "design system" which I took to mean a technical mechanism for styles, but now i'm less clear what they mean.

There are leaked emails from Google (from many years ago) where it was proposed to purposely degrade search quality to increase ad clicks. While some at Google responded with dismay as this, it is not a great leap to assume that this faction eventually won and they did in fact deliberately do that. Advertising is Google's main revenue source, they are clearly motivated to do so.

It just depends on you being familiar with the term "bible belt" which is a way of describing that most of the American south is very religious. It takes that idea and extrapolates the existance of several sillier "belts".

Is there any "About Jerboa" in the app to see what version you are running?

Nevermind! Found it. Wasn't expecting it to be under Settings...

I get a ton of left wing stuff recommended in my feed and no right wing trash. As much as the algorithm has degraded, it can learn things like this from what you watch and like.

The belts, other than the Bible belt are made up. Garfield, People Magazine (which I assume that abrev is for...this might not be clear to some) and 17th century French drama are real...

I love me a CR#2! I like mine heavy on the absinthe, but I may be less sensitive to licorice-like flavors than some.

Oh and with Cocchi Americano rather than Lillet. My understanding is that Lillet changed their recipe some decades back, making it less bitter, and the Cocchi Amer will give you something closer to the original.
