That is wild, I made an account on there last night so I was curious to find the announcement post. Evidently lots of people are quite outraged. I also noticed as of a few minutes ago a clarification post has been made: https://lemmynsfw.com/post/29826

To quote:

I have so much respect for @yay@lemmynsfw.com but i can’t believe how poorly he wrote the update message, lol.

Here is what’s happening;

- loli/shota are BANNED and not okay in any way.
- IRL kids are BANNED OBVIOUSLY because no shit.
- characters who are petite/young-looking but not obviously underage are ALLOWED because as an instance the votes decided that banning all of it was destructive, and differentiating between them can be impossible.

The line will continue to be up to the admins discretion, though we always appreciate input. And beyond this, individual communities can decide whether they want to outright ban all flat-chested etc. porn to be safe.

Any other clarifications necessary, just ask below. Thanks for reading. ~Restful

I'm not sure what to make of all this; it's a bit iffy to me so I'll be on the lookout for another NSFW related Lemmy community. There were a couple of folks in the comments of the original announcement post stating they're gonna make their own instance so we'll see how that pans out.

If those potatoes were roasted and seasoned it would be much better I reckon

This looks super promising! I love the inspiration from Apollo being a user for many, many years. Looking forward to a testflight/release :)

I have to agree, in terms of ergonomics I find the GCN controller to be the best

Thank you for the roadmap! Your work is much appreciated :)

The fact the post was made by a user and not the actual admin certainly contributes to this mess.

Excellent news! It's so lovely to see lemmy.world and the threadiverse as a whole grow. It's only gonna get bigger from July 1st

I get more of a early 2000s vibe from the fediverse, with it's smaller, more intimate communities akin to those old school phpBB and vBulletin forums I used to frequent extremely often, but of course more modernized.

There's always a chance you might have unfortunately been overlooked from the sheer amount of applications the admins have to sort through daily. I had to resubmit my app twice to get through, same answers and all. Got approved in under 30 mins

I'm about your age, and I have to wholeheartedly agree. Lemmy has that old forum vibe and I'm all for it.

Oh yikes, I didn't even see that comment. The fact that user is making this "clarification", and not the admin themselves concerns me. It reads like they're just piggybacking off the user poster who decided to do their own interpretation. Like others have stated before, there really needs to be a hard line drawn otherwise that instance is going to see a lot of people leaving.

If it's anything like /r/pics, it would be safe to assume those in favour of John will win by a long shot

Mmm malicious compliance, you love to see it.

What she lacks in brain cells, she makes up in cuteness

This is hilarious lol. The fuckwit himself (Spez) forced subreddits to reopen with an iron fist and now we're starting to see the consequences. Schadenfreude at its finest

I recommend checking this kbin/lemmy app currently in development, it's inspired by Apollo.

I hope you have plenty of sunscreen, because it looks like you're gonna be stuck in that spot for a while

I completely agree with your points. I alongside many others appreciate the heads up; for some reason `!lemmynsfw doesn't show up on my local feed over there so I never would've seen the post if it weren't for this thread.

Valorat - a tactical first person shooter where players play as a set of rodents with special abilities

I've played the original trilogy a plenty but I can't make myself play through Andromeda a second time for the reasons you've stated. Plus there was a severe lack of my favourite race in the game, Quarians! Boooo
