You are not personally guilty for the sins of your parents. In fact, that you recognize your privileged status and wish to fix the contradiction is commendable.

wow... and if you watch Dominion (free documentary on YouTube) you know how dangerous those places are, and how traumatic working there would be...

Can't say I'm too surprised, but expecting things like this and actually confronting it are two different things.

The revolution shall be without mercy.

Well, I'm no expert on decolonization and can only speak for the US, so while I can't give a full layout of what will be needed, there are a few things I can almost (70-80% certainty) guarantee will be needed in the US.

The US will need to dissolve completely. By that I mean:

  1. The flag completely replaced. Each stripe represents stolen land (the thirteen colonies). Each star is also stolen land (each state).
  2. The state borders completely redrawn to better reflect the historical lands held by indigenous peoples. This must be decided by indigenous peoples and not whites or anyone else. If colonized peoples decide it to be so, this may mean regions within the US become completely separate and sovereign nations. Also, since many historical lands spread across Canada and Mexico, the borders of those areas may need redrawing once liberation is achieved, though I am neither Canadian nor Mexican and have essentially no authoritative knowledge on how that might happen.
  3. The newly formed government(s) must include and be agreed upon by native peoples.
  4. Economic reparations to colonized peoples is a must, and can be financed by assets seized from the bourgeoisie during revolution. This must also include formal apologies and recognition of the sins of colonizers in history texts, courses, and within new documentation for the newly established government(s).

I realize there is likely more, but I am not knowledgeable enough to speak beyond this so far, and I may be wrong on even the points I addressed (so please correct me if you find error, I won't be offended). If comrades have more to add, do so please!

As for other things I've learned from talking with indigenous and colonized people, I can also add:

  1. Contrary to rightist fearmongering, "land back" doesn't mean the deportation of whites back to Europe. That is largely a narrative driven by right wingers to instill fear into whites that they might lose their homes and livelihood or whatever if land back were achieved. However, I haven't met any indigenous communist who seriously thought displacing millions of people was a good idea. Instead, whites will need to get used to "not being on top" of others, will need to get used to not getting special treatment when dealing with government and the authorities, with education, with employment, and everything else they get preference in.
  2. This also (mostly) applies to the non-indigenous victims of colonization, blacks won't be deported or displaced, and in fact will achieve further liberation through the dissolution and replacement of white supremacist institutions like (everything basically) the prison system, the policing system, education system, etc.

There is certainly more to it, but again, I am not a final authority on this. These are just a few points I personally have a good deal of confidence (maybe 70-80% confidence) in. Comrades, if I am wrong about something, please let me know, and definitely add more to this incomplete list.

Humans have an awful record of shortsightedness and unforeseen consequences. While yes, mosquitoes have the highest humam kill rate of any other thing that can kill people, it can be mitigated or eliminated with adequate sanitation and healthcare access for communities being harassed by mosquitoes.

The better solution to the ails caused by these insects is to improve drainage and sanitation infrastructure, build hospitals and clinics, and enact policy which gives access to this infrastructure to everyone without exception.

Yeah a lot of workers get PTSD. A lot. At least the ones who don't get off on torturing/killing animals.

If you watch (or already watched) Dominion you'll understand both parts of what I'm saying, both how people could get PTSD and how it is possible some people might enjoy cruelty.

For any comrades that watch it (or even its trailer) though, Content Warning: A FUCK TON OF ANIMAL CRUELTY AND DEATH BY THESE CORPORATIONS AND THEIR WORKERS IS DOCUMENTED IN UNCENSORED FOOTAGE. Highly recommend though.

I mean, the US and UK were both supplying and arming Nazis all the way up to the war, and many such companies continued to do so even while their countries were at war with them.

Ford was building military vehicles for them all throughout the war through a subsidiary using Russian slaves, then after the war concluded Ford sued the US government for damages to its German war factories and won.

GM also build war machines for the Third Reich.

Several banks including JP Morgan were financing the Nazis throughout the war as well.

Nestle supplied food.

DOW Chemical supplied "raw materials".

Coca-cola, through Fanta, supplied sugar and sugary drinks.

Woolworth sold... well a lot of things since they are a retail chain. When discovery of the Nazi concentration camps became public a lot of US citizens protested against Woolworth to have them remove their stores from Germany. Woolworth's response? Fire all their Jewish workers.

MGM provided film services. Kodak sold the Nazis photo equipment.

GE worked very closely with Krupp in order to help build the Nazi gas chambers using Jewish slave labor to build them.

Alcoa sold the Nazis aluminum and had a global monopoly on it.

IBM owned subsidiary Dehomag, a company which provided key services in tracking "undesirables" and their families.

Shell, a UK oil company, produced oil products in Hamburg and Geilenburgh. Standard Oil also provided massive quantities of petrol products.

Random House Publishing and their parent company, Bertelsmann A.G., published Nazi propaganda, including a book called Sterilization and Euthanasia: A Contribution to Applied Christian Ethics.

Pre-Revolution, no.

Capitalism corrupts everything and every death penalty sentence carried out likely carries the stains of greed, imperialism, and corporate interests. False convictions are rampant and always target minorities. Under Capitalism it can only act as a tool for genocide.

During a Revolution, yes.

Revolutionaries rarely have the resources to hold large numbers of POWs in prisons, so the worst of them should be executed (neo-nazis/nazis, high level war criminals, etc). Those are completely irredeemable in those circumstances anyway.

For other "normal" POWs I support a strategy used by Mao against the Nationalists. He had POWs go through a course, like a school course, about Marxism, with assignments, quizzes and tests, etc., and afterwards the graduates would receive an actual diploma stating they have successfully completed the course and were allowed to either join the revolutionaries, go home peacefully, or even go back to the Nationalist armies.

Those that went back to the Nationalist armies were seen as too compromised by the Nationalist armies and either sent home anyway, or in most cases outright imprisoned and sometimes executed. So many did not rejoin their previous commands for obvious reasons.

So under such a strategy, you can't lose.

After a Revolution, no.

No need. Not even for those who are irredeemable, such as someone who performs heinous crimes or what not. Life sentences should suffice for those who shouldn't return to society at large. Those in prison should have access to education, personal fulfillment, and work for fair pay which they can send to their families, have personalized experiences in prison (within reason, obviously everything should comply with safety standards of the convict, but what is the harm in allowing a convict to have a potted tomato plant or whatever if they aren't going to misuse it?), etc. Solitary confinement and other methods of prison torture should go away completely, with other safety methods researched and utilized to ensure safety regarding the very very very very rare individual who is unsafe to interact with anyone and everyone (after all, even some 35 year old who spent the last 5 years murdering 20 children managed to go the first 30 years without doing so, right?).

Most of those who have committed the most heinous of crimes will likely have some form of mental illness at the root of it. Trauma could be likely, or forms of delusion or other mechanisms. Therapy and thorough documenting of their cases could not only help the individual recover, but may lead to new therapeutic techniques or lead to better establishing the root causes of such issues which may in turn assist therapists in wider society treat those who are at risk of this type of behavior before they start such behavior, or otherwise help policymakers establish policies which are more inclusive to prevent others from acquiring the traumas which may have triggered the thoughts in the inmate which led to their conviction.

Not to mention that even under ideal communism, the criminal justice system will still be limited by human capacity. Even if the process is somehow 100% automated or performed by AI, that too will be limited by the biases and other human limitations of the automation engineer or Machine Learning/AI programmer and the likely human created/gathered data it is fed. There is a non-zero percent chance of a false conviction, so that means there would be a non-zero percent chance of a wrongful murder at the hands of the state during the execution of a death penalty.

Also, after the revolution, as poverty decreases so will crime. A prison system which is not privatized and which operates under a government driven to eradicating poverty and establishing a society built on true egalitarian principles will have far far fewer prisoners and fewer crimes. Why risk altercations with individuals and law enforcement by spending hours pickpocketing in subways for such few gains when you can spend that same amount of time pursuing free education or a job doing something fulfilling which will pay much more and provide much more satisfaction? Need a rush of adrenaline? Become a skydiving instructor or rock climbing guide. Prison space will invariably open up and the resources necessary to support the few left over whose crimes are not related to poverty will certainly be there.

Art is a skill anyone can learn with practice and determination, while also having low barriers to entry and the capacity for great fulfillment. This makes it dangerous and in contradiction with the interests of the elite, since workers tired of working for their bosses can learn to create art and sustain themselves on various platforms.

So of course they'd target that early on. It is no coincidence that coding is another task these AI are taking, as workers who know how to code have a lot of power, hence their often bloated incomes. Unfortunately in the case of AI making a lot of coding tasks easier, the power is not being more evenly spread between workers that code and workers that don't, but rather being taken away from the coding workers by the elite altogether increasing their own power while taking another option of reprieve from the working class.

EDIT: spelling

I know and am also not what people would call normal. I have panic attacks on the regular in crowds and can't even grocery shop during certain hours of certain days because of it. Also been involuntarily hospitalized a few times as well. Since I'm also a USian this stuff costs me between $10k - $20k USD per year, the variation depending on how good my insurance is amd how bad a given year is for me.

I'm not the flavor of neuro diverse Greta is, but I try to be aware of these things.

Greta, I've noticed, exudes a lot of confidence and poise when she is in her element, which is the environmental activist sphere. As I suspect she should be since she is actually very well educated in. When she speaks or poses for pictures or whatever while doing things related to these matters, she is clearly confident.

But she isn't all that knowledgeable about imperialism. Or geopolitics. Or socio-economics. Or the NATO/Russia/Ukraine relationship.

So here she is, likely having already spent several hours already with these people, who would've been talking to her about shit she knows next to nothing about, appearing uncomfortable in the photo shoot. Because she is out of her element and knows it.
