Patent trolls are some of the only companies that make Disney actually the good guy for a change.
@lemmy.ml
I've got no love for billionaires, and obviously this story overshadowing the migrant boat sinking in Greece is infuriating, but I'm really not a fan of the glee so many people on social media are expressing at the deaths of these five people.
Also, on another note, I seriously cannot get over the fact that the late CEO of the company, Stockton Rush, has the absolute perfect team name for a minor league football team from central California.
Twitter’s definitely didn’t.
I don't know... 50% of their top advertisers have left, and their advertising income is down 60%. I'm no longer there, so I can't speak to overall user engagement, but with their revenue cratering, I'm not sure how long it is destined for this world.
I thank you for your response, and generally think you are right. Perhaps I should rephrase my question a bit to: is the existence of multiple communities on a given subject a feature of Lemmy (perhaps even unique to Lemmy) we should expect and embrace, or do you think communities coalescing into few/one will occur naturally?
There is logic behind not prohibiting people from fleeing from a legitimate threat.
But if his comments don’t also include the statement that people protests blocking traffic don’t constitute a threat, it’s just implicit permission to harm protesters.
I'd like to add, as someone who has to time-shift watching the grand prix, I sure would appreciate not having the weekend spoiled in post titles. I literally had to unsubscribe and even filter out r/formula1 because they'd post spoilers in post titles.
There’s YouTube video out there, the name escapes at the moment, where he figures out how to basically insert “noise” over his license plate that can lead to flock cameras not recognizing it. Fascinating stuff.
Two big issues IMO. 1) maybe it fools cameras now, but who knows if it continues to. 2) it’s illegal to cover your plate, probably doubly with the intent to obfuscate. My solution is bike rack. “Oops, didn’t meant to cover my plate” is good plausible deniability.
Nuked and deleted my numerous alts over the past few days. Nuked and deleted my main and oldest account (14 years) just a few hours ago.
Might spool up that self-hosted lurk-only software to still browse, but I'm not posting another word on there.
