I'm at the final boss of Super Mario RPG and can vouch for it being really fun. While it's not as epic in scale and story as Chrono Trigger, it's got good humorous writing, good pacing, and the difficulty is just right imo.

I also really like that if you lose a battle, the game resets you at your last save point and carries over any exp you gained, making grinding way less tedious.

There are a couple of really cool Metroid Zero Mission rom hacks called Metroid Spooky mission and Metroid Spooky Mission 2 which are high quality and fun to play on the GBA.

I also picked up the Resident Evil bundle earlier this year that I should fire up. RE4 is my jam.

Here's one that came to mind: Heiankyo Alien for the Gameboy DMG. I remember playing this a ton in the car as a kid. It's a game where you have to dig holes for aliens to fall in and bury them to kill them.

That's a bummer, I had a Moto E and couple of Moto G phones in the past which were great, but once I started seeing reviews that older generations were better than new ones that were coming out I decided to try using an older flagship (Galaxy S10+ for $200 in 2022) and it's been a solid experience. Sounds like I should continue going that route once security updates end on this phone.

Hopefully they carry over the ability to stream and replay all games from the ESPN+ app, as much as I hate all these streaming services it was really easy to catch an XFL game earlier this year.

Celeste, Guacamelee, and Monster Boy in the Cursed Kingdom all made me better at platforming games.
