Every few years I try Domino's again to make sure my avoidance of them is justified and every time I'm reminded how right I am. Before you think I'm just a pizza snob, I like and semi regularly get Pizza Hut.

I'll be 41 years old this month.
I'd like to say I've lived a bit of a life. I've had and lost friends. I've found and lost love. I was even married for a little while. I was directionless career-wise coming out of high school but now I'm quite successful and am paid well for it. I'm moderately well-travelled. I've been to and seen a lot of places both domestic and abroad and not all of them were so nice.. some were even outright sketchy.
But today, on April 1st 2024 - I saw my very first bona fide, honest-to-god, ready for use, manky Glory Hole. A clearly frequented hole in the side of a toilet stall complete with some eager gent waiting on the other side.
From now on my life has been split in two; before I saw a Glory Hole and after. I was so young in the before-times. So naive. So full of hope.
More evidence I'm wasted on these people.. driving from Denver to Moab:
Passing a town called Parachute, "Got some bad news in Parachute.. but luckily they let me down easy"
Nothing.
Passing a town called Cameo, "Nice of this town to make a special appearance!"
Nothing.
I was expecting not to receive my full pay rise this financial year regardless of meeting my performance plan because I haven't been in this particular role for the full financial year.. but I just got an email saying congratulations and that my pay rise is coming through on the next pay run along with backpay from July 1! Yay!!
Sometimes things just work out.
I did my research last night for where I'd go for breakfast in Bright, walked up to it in the chilled morning drizzle eager for some (reviewer described) fluffy yellow eggs and coffee only to find, to my horror, that a sign on the door said "We are closed for annual leave until June 26, sorry we missed you"
I was so disappointed I left town immediately. I drove without a specific destination, in search of a place of fluffy yellow eggs and delicious coffee.
I find myself now in Wangaratta, sat inside a cafe I spotted as I drove through the city centre. Eggs ordered, sipping my coffee and listening to my audiobook through my headphones. The sun is shining.
Apparently my great grandfather was a Bobby back in England. I have his truncheon. Looks like it's had a few knocks too.. probably sorted out some likely lads. Found it while sorting out my Nanna's belongings.

I have photographic evidence of possibly the exact moment when my brain flipped from being interested in ninja turtles to being interested in ladies.
This is me and a 24 or 25 (I think) year old Kylie Minogue at my dad's work xmas party one year. Judging by my style/pudgy face I'm going to say it was around 1993 or 1994. I hadn't seen this photo in decades but my mum sent it to me over the weekend.

Back from the market. Found some honeycomb so that was a win. The whole experience left me very 'whelmed' though.
Some dickhead is attempting to sell toasties for SIXTEEN (16) AUSTRALIAN DOLLERYDOOS each. Incredible. I paid $6 for a walkin' around pretzel which may have been made yesterday because it was not fresh and under salted. I went to buy 2 simple iced donuts, 1 for me and 1 for Ron thinking they'd be fresh and delicious.. nope, chewy and $11.40. I felt like a banana smoothie but from what I can tell you literally cannot buy that. If you want a 12 berries, flaxseeds, rocket, dove feathers, spinach, kale, carrot and almond milk smoothie for $17 they have you covered though. Just whack some banana, frozen yoghurt, beef milk and maybe a dash of honey if you're feeling fancy into a blender and sell it to me for $8 you pretentious puffy-coated bastards.
I did pick up a lil lasagne for dinner from the fresh pasta place so I'm hoping that's good. Oh and I was only there for like 45 minutes I think so parking was free, which is nice.
Got the news this morning but haven't brought myself to tell anybody yet so you'll be the first. I did the glucose resistance test last week and it seems I have type 2 diabetes. I felt fine during and after the tests so I thought maybe I'd be ok but apparently not so much.
It was almost inevitable, I think, considering dad and I are so similar and he has it. I'm still processing it though. I don't think I have any of the symptoms of it but no doubt if I don't start managing it they'll start popping up. This is my first real health issue. Never broken a bone or had to go to hospital besides normal infant stuff. Not as invincible as I suspected.
I went and bought those Aldi coffee beans, gave my espresso machine a good clean and attempted my first coffee in a long long time.
Took 2 attempts to get the extraction right and it's not my sexiest milk pour but it was a damn fine cup of coffee ā

I'm freeeeee! Just a bit of sniffles left and the medical centre has given me the ok to leave isolation.
Edit: interesting development.. just showered and put deodorant on and I can't smell anything haha
What an odd sensation. Coconut sunscreen.. nothing. Cologne.. nothing.
Going to find some breakfast to check on taste but toothpaste was barely noticeable soooo
Edit edit: I can kinda taste ketchup but that was about it from my eggs and bacon breakfast. I should just eat the healthy stuff I might not usually eat.
thanks for using Leebra!
