Interesting, it will be based on the ARMv9 architecture and will be CPU only, no GPUs

that’s a solution if you’re a hobbyist living in Kazakhstan, not if you’re a business operating in the USA (with multiple people and their families depending on you not screwing up)

The problem is, of course, if those evangelical idiots end up in power again they now have the power to wield it. (or to at least try)

I’ve had Safari of all things crash on me a couple of times. Still, not enough to actually be disruptive.

I do wonder what could they have done in the email case? I don't think that there's any country where they could just let you not comply with a court order. And due to how email works they can't just encrypt the subject lines or the sender/receiver.
In that one case I lean more into pointing more fingers to the Swiss government, rather than to proton. They're still not blameless tho, maybe they could have used some sort of canary to let people know they were being surveilled, and be more clear on how to avoid these situations.

As far as I understand it, the Linux Foundation is more like a confederation rather than a unitary state. They don’t really directly manage each project under their umbrella, they just provide general guidelines and a neutral space for interested parties to interact and cooperate in.

porn addiction is not real, if someone’s porn consumption is such that it is disruptive of their daily lives then they likely have some sort of underlying psychological issue, but the same can be said of anything, including exercise for example

The problem is not so much badly written programs and websites in terms of algorithms, but rather latency. The latency of loading things from storage, sometimes through the internet is the real bottleneck and why things feel so slow.
