I'm a southern Vietnamese. I genuinely support the Communist Party and the government. But I have to say, they just let liberalism and western propaganda run rampant over here. People getting more and more liberal, most don't even know what communism even is, they think it's something taboo. As an average person, I barely see any effort to educate and inform the mass. That's my one strong criticism for the government.

People are pro-capitalism as fuck over here (at least in my experience). Make me wonder when things went wrong.

I wish we also had a competent communist leader over here. It's getting wild talking to people around me about communism, most of them have no idea what they're talking about.

Yeah being born here is definitely better than somewhere like the US. And people over here keep preaching about the "American dream" I'm so sick and tired.

Our prime minister went from a guy who goes to local cafes and play chess with neighbors to a guy who lives in a big ass private mansion with a lot of corruption allegations so...

It is taught briefly in national universities but barely anyone give a shit about it. Students just think of it as something you have to go thru to graduate.

The people like to connect our country's past suffering to communism to shit on it and say that we are better off right now because we get to have whatever the fuck Westerners have.

I don't know for real but I think maybe most of party members are in the northern part. The south used to be heavily colonized by the west before it got liberated by northern folks. The situation here might be similar to Shanghai in China.

Can't really speak for the older people, but as I see it, most just kinda don't care, the past is the past. People with money keep sending their child to America for education, say our country is not good enough, you can't have a good life in Vietnam. It's like they would rather live under the mercy of capitalism than fight agaisnt the big bad. Western propaganda has truly seeped through every corner.

Definitely not in school. You only learn ML in public universities, and even then it's no way in-depth enough.

Very basic Marxist-Leninist ideology, barely even in-depth enough, you wouldn't spend more than a few months with that course.
