But.. it's the states that run elections, not the federal government. This doesn't make any sense.

It sounds like they want you to do it during working hours or else they wouldn't offer those times. It's a service offered by your job so it could be interpreted as a work-related function and therefore you should get paid for utilizing it.

Control+C is used to kill a process in the terminal and that shouldn't be overwritten. If it is, you'd have to create a totally separate key binding to kill a process. Seems unnecessarily complex when Control+Shift+C works just fine.

I've found myself naturally doing this as my disdain for Google grows. I also like the term "query".

I believe they were bought by someone and eventually implemented some questionable practices. I don't remember the exact details, maybe someone else does.

Cover letters are one of the few things I've found AI is decent at producing. I give it my resume, the job description, and tell it to write of a cover letter based on those. The employer will most likely skim it or not read it at all, so it doesn't need to be super detailed. Of course, make sure to double-check it for hallucinations.

With the way federation works, all of the lemme.ee posts are synced to all other federated Lemmy servers and I just can't see all of them going away. I think Lemmy will be just fine.

As far as lemmy.world specifically, it's more than just a Lemmy instance, it's run by the Fedihosting Foundation and they host many different types of servers. If you're concerned about their longevity, consider donating to their Patreon.

It's kind of like imposter syndrome for taking a break. Are you really bored enough to enjoy relaxing? Have you really relaxed enough to get back to work?

I was once driving on some back roads I was unfamiliar with. I turned a corner and didn't realize there was a stop sign until too late and went right through the intersection. As I went through it, I turned my head to the left and noticed that a car was heading right for me. It missed me by inches.
