Revenue doesn't equal profit. Apple's 2023 net profit was 96b, so a 14b fine is a substantial portion of their overall profits (~15%).
Of course, they're not hurting by any stretch of the imagination, 82b is still a STUPID amount of money, but we should be getting the facts and numbers correct
he's not asking for a warranty claim or replacement, he's asking for a repair service. it's like taking your 10 year old accord to the service center to get some bushings/mounts/battery or whatever replaced
iirc correctly it's a thought experiment where you have a hotel with an infinite number of rooms, full with an infinite number of guests. a bus comes along with an infinite number of guests, can the hotel accommodate them? the answer is always yes and simply depends on how you move the current guests around in the hotel. it gets pretty convoluted so check out the link for more info bc god knows i wouldn't be able to relay it accurately
At the bottom of the article, the paper has been published in a peer reviewed journal.
definitely watch it with them. just faking it will only get you so far before the act falls apart. it'll also help you build your relationship with them if you show interest in picking up and learning stuff she likes IMO
totally agree, peer reviewing is the bare minimum, but it IS a step above any old article published on a random website. also would like to acknowledge the limitations of this particular study. fair criticism and is something the authors brought up in their paper too.
my reply was in response to the original commenter mentioning that there was no link to the study at all.
The first paragraph, I can get along with and understand where you're coming from.
The second paragraph, could you elaborate what you mean by "eat up your phone plan just by existing"? I personally use an iPhone and have had very normal data usage rates that is accurately tracked through both the phone and my carrier's app.
Also regarding borrowing a charger, they just moved to USB-C so that will be a non-issue a few years down the road when lightning is phased out.
i see people discussing allowing leaks in the comments and was thinking maybe allow character leaks but not story leaks? that way people can still plan their pulls without being spoiled regarding the story
Sure, but whether they were forced to move over or did it out of the (non-existent) goodwill of their hearts wasn't the point of contention in the discussion and results in a similar outcome. The initial commenter pointed out that they couldn't share a charger and I just mentioned that this should be a non-issue once lightning is phased out.
Welcome back! Biggest new thing is definitely the Fontaine region. Excellent story, amazing music, very pretty scenery.
Artifact-wise, the new Fontaine domain has new BiS for Fischl, Xiao, and the Fontaine cast. Marechaussee Hunter for Xiao + most of Fontaine chars, Golden Troupe for Fischl, Furina.
Characters, Wriothesley is on the current banner. Cryo on field normal/charged attack dps. Furina banner is coming in 2 weeks. Charlotte will also be coming in the new patch, but don't know which half she'll be released yet. (Furina is hydro archon, Charlotte is a 4* fontaine news reporter).
Not sure if you would like to know about leaks for the next patch so i'll leave em out for now since idk how to spoiler on Lemmy, but lmk if you're interested and i'll tell you about them!
iMessage lock in is almost exclusively a US problem (maybe EU, but i have no experience living there so i'm not sure). I'm from Malaysia and 99% of communication here is done through whatsapp and I know this is true for many other countries too. Line is frequently used in korea, Wechat in china, etc. It was only when I moved to the US that I used iMessage in any serious capacity
you're talking about a bandwidth cap, not a data cap. data caps are when you get throttled after downloading a certain amount of data or get charged extra. think phone data plans where you have 10 or 20gb or whatever per month
thanks for using Leebra!
