It wasn't the launch, it was the shit game. The world is shallow, hollow, and boring. The gameplay is repetitive. The main story, voice acting, and missions are good but that's it.

Things cost what people are willing to pay. The housing crisis is an income crisis.

Hugely underestimating the natural charisma it takes to make content like this. Most folks just getting out of prison do not have it.

It is truly, deeply amazing how bad Microsoft is. Proton on Linux is FASTER than the actual directX it's emulating is on windows. They got beat at their own instruction layer.

You could have, you know, not bought and ruined oculus, and destroyed the VR ecosystem.

I was at GDC the year of the acquisition. There were Facebook suits walking around the showroom floor writing checks to sign exclusivity deals with anyone showing off a VR game.

My cousins used to live on a street with massive trees that dropped tons of leaves every autumn. The city would have special service days where everyone rakes the leaves into big piles in the street and street sweepers would come vacuum them up.

Hooligans liked the drive through the big piles in the middle of the night. I honestly kinda see the appeal, who could resist. Anyway, they started to doing the same thing. Piles of cinder blocks under some of them. I was staying with them one night and we heard some horrible carnage, came out to find some sedan high centered on a pile of cinder blocks with the bumper hanging off.

It was never meant to be covert. That doesn't work as a deterrent. The headline means quiet as in not announced, not as In nobody knows.

Like, if you quietly left a party. It just means you didn't say goodbye, it does not mean that you're still hiding in the building.

This is so so stupid. We should also sue the ISPs then, they enabled the use of YouTube and Reddit. And the phone provider for enabling communications. This is such a dangerous slippery slope to put any blame on the platforms.

Not even close. Mites are animals. Between your ass hair, clothing, and the square inch of horse fur, each time you fart on a horse you fart on half a million mites. And everyone who doesn't ride horses, 99.999 percent of the population, farts on mites every time they flatulate.

No, you wouldn't. The same amount of money going to dry beans and grains, some dairy and eggs, and some cheap protein goes much further. You'd even have enough left for fresh veggies and seasonings.

The intersection of poor and can't cook is just depressingly shitty and too common.

First off that's a terrible profit for the work. But this brings up some interesting thoughts that I've pondered before.

Why were the people down to just buy this mystery pizza that showed up at their door? Is it just the convenience? So then why don't taco trucks drive around playing music like ice cream trucks? I feel like folks would be all about that.

I was playing tag with my kid yesterday. He's 3, almost 4. He's very fast for his age, but not as fast as me. He asked to play tag because he just learned it in school. I could dodge to the side as he was getting close and change direction. I could fake him out. I could sprint to the other side of our 1 acre meadow to creat space. But he just kept coming. Smiling and laughing the whole time. I'm starting to get winded. Hands on my knees for a second after a sprint, but only for a second as he's closed the gap already. His undeterred motivation and pace was scary. He was going to get me eventually, and he seemed to know it.

I now know how the victims of Chucky must have felt.

They're super conservative. I rode just once in one. There was a parked ambulance down a side street about 30 feet with it's lights one while paramedics helped someone. The car wouldn't drive forward through the intersection. It just detected the lights and froze. I had to get out and walk. If we all drove that conservatively we'd also have less accidents and congest the city to undrivability.

Right! SteamOS with sleep/resume, gyro, touchpads and back paddles are my absolute baseline for handhelds now.

I can't wait to see some REAL competition.

Few things here. Apprenticeships are hard to come by. You have to know someone or be in the right family already.

Second, university is a universal education. You can do almost anything afterwards. Gradschool is where you have to pick something. But some folks do multiple post grads. If you pick apprenticeship, that's it. That's the thing you're doing. Forever.

Personaly, I'm very happy to have a well rounded education. I became a software engineer 10 years after graduting university. I could do it, and could get hired for it, because of that education. All the skills you hone at university helped me alonng the way, writing, speaking, critical thinking, I even leaned to sail and fence.

Apprenticeships give you a single trade, university teaches you how to think, and makes you a better person.
