Should be user's choice. Have it enabled by default, but with a possibility to turn it off.

Creating a positive mental landscape, based on action, something to strive for, rather than visions of impeding doom., is an essential first step.

I don't get your reasoning. There's no downside to letting users choose.

And I find the 'love it or leave it' approach distasteful.
I generally like what the admin is doing, in large part because he listens to user feedback, which I was providing.
Of course you're entitled to your opinion.

edit: wait it does makes sense in a way to avoid hosting illegal content, if the instance doesn't have the manpower to moderate effectively. nevermind. still think those issues should be discussed collectively.

Try PMing the admin. This is a smaller scale, non profit network, you can't expect moderation to be as fast as in a major platform (yet).
But I'm sure they'll be willing to deal with it.

I think db0 is working on some sort of collective rating for instances, maybe that could be extended to users, but I'm no sure how much good it would do, and if it wouldn't be abused.

Harmful. It's noise pollution. It dilutes human contribution and makes it harder to engage with other people.

I don't think a little bit of humor is that much of a crime, even if it's dumb.

10 years limit, absolutely non transferable, limited to human beings (not abstract legal entities) .
Eventually extendable to lifetime of the creator if the work is still being developed, to prevent being usurped by copycats.

I also believe that facilitating voluntary sponsorship (a la patreon, but without letting 10% get siphoned by leeches) is preferable to selling works. Especially since distribution is now pretty much free.

Meta will face daily fines of €89,500 if it doesn’t comply with the order.

Bet they can write it off as expenses.
