You can always opt to take on a double name, you can both take on your wife's name if you prefer that, or whatever. But just because a woman chooses to take her husband's name, doesn't mean that she's now his property. Your children also aren't your property just because they have your last name

Edit: And before someone brings up the fact that the historic reason is property: Things can change and people like to stick to certain traditions regardless of the history that the tradition carries.

TBF godot is open source and has over 2300 contributors on github. Still less than unity and most of those don't get paid for their work, but saying that there are only 10 developers is not true and not fair to all of the people contributing in their free time

This directive does not apply to public service broadcasters or non-governmental organisations that do not provide services that are essential to the public or specifically to people with disabilities.

This is very much an exception, and a big one at that.

Since reddit does not provide services essential to the public, they are not required to comply with web accessibility standards.

I'm happy to be proven wrong here, but this is how i interpreted it and it would cause a lot of problems if the EU started going after private websites (which reddit still is, they are not a public sector, nor do they provide essential services to the public) and force them to be accessible.

philips hue (and many others) use zigbee, which means you could set up a self hosted instance of something like home assistant and get a zigbee adapter. That way you can control the zigbee lights with open source and self hosted software, and you also have the option of keeping everything entirely local if privacy is a concern

Exactly. And the unity engine is not the only product that unity makes. They have a full cloud platform with DevOps tools, Game Services like Matchmaking, Leaderboards, Ads, etc. and many more things.

Nonetheless, what the Godot Team + Community is creating as a FOSS product is absolutely amazing and i would say it's well on its way to becoming the Blender of game engines
