“Books were only one type of receptacle where we stored a lot of things we were afraid we might forget. There is nothing magical in them, at all. The magic is only in what books say, how they stitched the patches of the universe together into one garment for us.” Professor Faber

Yeah, I can agree with this. Mine died about 2 years ago. He didn’t even call to let his own children know he was sick. I had not talked to him for over 25 years and he chose not to reach out when I almost died in a car crash 13 years ago. I finally feel like I can visit my home state without the anxiety of running into him and the woman he cheated with and abandoned his family for.

I am happy for all the folks who have good dads though. Please give those good guys an extra hug from us ladies who had shitty dads.

Yeah, I started using it at close to launch 20ish years ago. It used to be great for dating and finding friends, but I’ve heard it’s terrible now. I met my partner there about 13 years ago, but it was already starting to get crappy.

I’m looking at ways to socialize more too. I hope you find something!

That was honestly the first thing that came to my mind too. I saw the graph and thought it looks so much like my experience with my mom.

Okcupid used to be good for this, I was a super early user of their website. 15ish years ago, I traveled for work a lot and I added where I would be to my profile. I met a lot of super cool people, went to concerts, and ate lots of good food in so many places. But I’ve heard that place has been enshittified pretty badly.

Is Bumble any good anymore? How about HER or is that more focused on dating?

I support trans rights because they are human rights.

I trust a trans woman in the bathroom more than I trust a cis woman because trans women don’t look at me like I don’t belong, and I’m just a cis lady with short hair who doesn’t always dress feminine. I’ve never been harassed in the bathroom by a trans woman. I have never been harassed in the bathroom by a cis man. I have never been harassed in the bathroom by a trans man. Funny enough, I have been harassed in the bathroom by cis women.

I always think similar to this post’s logic when I hear guys laughing about women with “daddy issues”. Like, don’t you realize it’s not a reflection on women, but a reflection of how fucked up men can be?

I read books, gardened, shopped at the garden store/nursery, played some WOW on my pc, and played some Boyfriend Dungeon on my Steam Deck.

Mostly gardening and getting stoned though :)

Billie Joe Armstrong

When I first heard Coming Clean and the interview where he said he is bi, I was maybe 13-14 years old. It helped me realize that I was attracted to both girls and boys. Then all the pictures of him making out with guys on stage made me realize that it’s ok.

Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Ness, and Tim Armstrong

I know, all dudes, but I’m a sucker for that type of punk aesthetic. Love the leather, denim, rips, patches, stitches, vests, just all of it. I’ll probably go pretty hard into that style when I retire because fuck it, why not!

My ninja turtles. I loved Michelangelo and Donatello, because they were the fun party dude and the super smart dude. I still have my original toys in a box somewhere.

Is it an at home electrolysis device? Is it painful on sensitive skin? Does it only work on fine hair or does it work on thicker hair too?

Asking as a lady who’d love to get rid of a patch of hormonal hair.

Pretty much any song from Green Day through their Kerplunk album. Most of the songs after, but a few I do skip.

I tend to listen to full discs on real CDs and no longer listen to playlists or streaming anymore.

I finished Chaos Vector by Megan E. O’Keefe, the third book of The Protectorate trilogy. That was a really fun and exciting space opera. Each book started a little slow, but picked up pretty quick. Lots of good fun.

Currently reading Whirlwind by Charles Grant. It’s an X-Files book that I’ve had for a while. I love reading these or Star Trek books in between larger series as a break. This one takes place in Arizona and is about multiple murders with suspicious circumstances, so of course Mulder and Scully are on the case!

I also have some aphantasia and reading books about tv show characters helps me see images easier as I read.

I love this. The guy who was reading names is the guy who trolls right wing dumb dumbs a lot. I forget his name, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him actually angry or that upset. Love it.

Walter Masterson! That’s his name.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video where he was legitimately that angry.

Have done. Is fun.

Also, a She Wee or similar device is a decent alternative for vulva having folks to pee standing up.

I agree with that. The OG is a great scifi cyberpunk B movie that gets weird, but it is not a good Mario Bros movie.

I think it’s better that way
