I'm hoping the wallet was more of a proof-of-concept for the backend development, and that PLAYR will have a wallet behind the scenes to juggle whatever's needed for the marketplace to work, but just speculation on my part there.

I have a loopring wallet for collecting red packets, so going to migrate the wallet bits to that, but can I connect to my existing wallet with my seed phrase like how the gamestop wallet could host two accounts? I suspect that would avoid the gas fees of transferring my assets from the gamestop wallet account to the loopring wallet account, but not sure how this works.

yes, usenet user from way back, so this all makes sense. So I could start the group "spandex hamsters" all about making ballet unitards for hamsters, and it will show up as a community for all Lemmy users (Lemmings?). ie. everyone has the ability to make alt.hamsters.spandex in the old Usenet parlance.

Thanks! I'm glad there's a lemmy instance to put them on! I usually make recombinant pattern sets with the lines, but the GME saga seemed ripe for embedding words/acronyms into so I have really leaned into that the past couple years, I like how the set is turning out.

so what happens if the server i have a user account on disappears? does my account disappear and I just make a new one on a different server? do all the posts/comments disappear like if a user deletes their account on reddit?

The thing is, to jump in on this i still wouldn't sell my GME, because it wouldn't make a huge difference to what Io what I have to put into this. I am a lower income ape, i work less than full time, so I can take the money i put into GME about every 2 months to buy a single handful of shares and put it towards AI instead if I really wanted to jump in on this alleged goldrush, but i wouldn't know the first thing about what to buy. And besids, the only people that really strike it rich in a goldrush are the outfitters, which in this case are still the shitty brokers likely sending everything to Citadel in PFOF.

So if you have the hot tip of "put $100 into and it'll be 10000X next month!" then let me know and I'll throw my next $100 i would have bought GME with into that, but I'm not selling any GME, especially not the DRS'd bits because I spent so goddam much to DRS them, and those shares either become a phone book number or I die with them still in my account.

it will get so many things wrong and tell all the wrong stories. I still say Apes Together Strong is the only film intro to the sage folks should be getting exposed to, sadly I think this one will make media waves and then kind of get forgotten fast to move people into whatever next news cycle will distract them from looking further into wall street's shenanigans.

this makes me think of the scene in Manufacturing Consent where they scroll a list of the 2 dozen or so at-the-time major media corporations responsible for the large majority of news dissemination in the west. I think that list has been consolidated now to about half a dozen corporations.

My favourite speculation is that Playr will connect things from every direction, be it games to players, music to listeners, streams to watchers, items to collectors, pictures to viewers, ideas to collaborators, what ever it is, it will play it. Power to the playrs.
