TikTok did the same shit back when I used it. It's weird because I've always kept my internet life separate from my personal life, and now every app is begging to show my closest friends and family my shitposts, political takes and NSFW content. I'm mostly done with traditional social media by now at this point anyway. I've managed to kick tiktok and am now permanently banned from reddit so hopefully I won't get sucked back in.

I have to imagine that the intersection of people who both have money to blow and would want a trophy for spending money are quite slim, but I guess you only need a few suckers to buy in to make a few K.

They didn't even tell me why. I appealed the initial ban, they accepted my appeal, then I was banned again with no stated reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I got permanently banned for describing Minecraft features, like cheekily describing the parallels between the villagers and antisemitic stereotypes. I was permanently banned for that, appealed the ban, and before the appeal was able to go through I was banned again on every account for... whatever the fuck, they didn't tell me. I assume ban evasion, but I didn't even post on any of my alts.

I appealed that ban as well, but decided it wasn't worth it and deleted the app from my phone and the bookmark from my browser before I could find out if it went through.

Yeah we already have GOG for this purpose. Valve imposing similar restrictions would be reckless.
