As much as I browsed reddit throughout the day for the past 5 years....$20 seems like nothing. Hell I spend $10 a month of a few Patreons for ad free content.

Just watched Star Trek The Next Generation for the first time! Loved most of it...though it has some middling and really bad moments. About to watch all the TNG movies next!

God forbid you pay $20 once to support the dev and for an app you'll use 1-2 hours a day for potentially the rest of your life...yet you'll pay $10 for a streaming service you'll never touch for months on end...

I have no hope, but there are a few subs that I still love and it's sad that he is destroying that so he can make reddit like every other soul-sucking social network. reddit is unfortunately the only place I can go to discuss random things I love like the EPL, or WNBA, or the japanese show Gaki No Tsukai as no one around me in real live is into them. Hopefully some of that can transfer to lemmy or other places...but who knows...

Welcome! I too fell in love with it as a teen. I discovered it when the 20th anniversary DVD came out. I found it at a Disney Store (when those still existed) and I got it! Been a fan ever since!

The movies aren't perfect by any means, but the culmination of the visuals, music, and world building are what made me fall in love with them. I honestly think Uprising is probably the best piece of Tron media from a plot and writing standpoint. Wish it had lasted longer!
