To anyone saying she tried to run over the officer, please watch the body cam footage. She is turning the wheel as much as possible to steer the vehicle away from the officer. On top of that, she pulled forward very slowly. If you were trying to run someone over, you would not give them every opportunity to avoid being hit by the vehicle.

So he sells a bunch of shares right before the announcement that is likely going to tank their stock price

I'm gonna start by saying Twitter doesn't respect your privacy, this we all should know. However, I don't think this is what you think.

You're reading an RSS feed that Linux Handbook publishes to. They published something and likely published it elsewhere at the same (or similar) times. It shows up in your feed, and you're reading it. At the same time, their post on Twitter has propagated to the point where followers are being notified and the algorithm is sending notifications to people that might be interested in it. You get a notification from Twitter. Panik

It's just a coincidence, and being skeptical has rotted your brain. Sometimes shit do just be like that. Everyone in privacy oriented communities has had this happen at some point, and because of how we think we end up feeling like it's malicious.

No, they shouldn't.

That's the end of the argument.

I was going to comment "I never thought the leopards would eat my face!" But then I noticed the community it was in. Lol

It's not a water block that costs $800 though. It's a prototype water block that they estimated the cost of producing to be around $800 given R&D, labor, materials, etc.

It was never meant to be a production ready product, and it should never have been treated as such.

The issue with the auction is due to the fact that they sent Billet numerous emails claiming to have prepared it to be shipped back, including one in which they said they would send tracking info shortly. They didn't know it was being auctioned off until afterward. And Linus didn't contact them about compensation until 3 hours after GNs video went live.

These are facts, backed by actual evidence which you can see for yourself in GNs latest HW news.

His existence is justified by the fact that he was included in the game. Sorry you don't like the character, you're free to just leave him at the camp or murder him at the start of the game.

You described two extremes as examples of parties he wouldn't fit into, but conveniently left out neutral groups. God forbid if we have nuance and humanity in our playthroughs by being more complicated than the hero or villain archetype. I have him in my party because he's a rogue, and his ability to assassinate people and pick locks helps me focus on not doing those things.

It just seems so harsh to distill his character down to "creepy rapist", especially without even scratching the surface on his backstory.

I would imagine a vampire would sneakily attempt to drink my blood at night. That's kinda their whole thing. How that equates to being a rapist is beyond me.

I posted a comment in the_dunk_tank without noticing where I was. While many people were heated over what I said, it was a misunderstanding due to a lack of specificity and ignorance on my part. After I clarified what I was intending to say, discussion ensued and it was ended on good terms.

The vast majority of users I interact with from hexbear are thoughtful, insightful, kind and genuine individuals that care deeply about humanity and moving forward. The hate that they have is for fascism and actual fascists.

To defederate hexbear would be a disservice to the idea of federated social media.

Yes, windows is heavier. Yes, it will use more power and resources. It's not intended to conserve resources and run on every system known to humankind. We all know this. How it is a surprise to anyone is beyond me

Whoever is running the instance.

Lemmy, kbin, and mastodon all use activitypub to share content between instances. Each instance is run by a different person or group than the others.

The hardware depends, but usually is owned by a hosting company (cloud) or an independent operator.

The software is open source and isn't really owned by anyone.

Admins are whoever the server owner determines. I'm not sure how moderators are defined on Lemmy, though likely dealt with on a per-community basis.

Billet estimated the cost of the prototype to be $800. They never sent them a product.

Linus said "they agreed on compensation" and yet billet has stated they never responded to his offer, that he sent literal hours after GN posted the main video. Linus lied here. He can say he is compensating them all he wants, but there has not been any agreement made between the parties involved. They didn't want payment, they wanted their fucking prototype back.

Hell yeah brother! Everyone deserves a nice paid vacation! Especially during a time when everyone is calling for accountability and you gotta lay low while the department keeps your identity hidden after you slaughtered a woman and her unborn child while she was trying to carefully drive around you in a parking lot! I mean, who of us hasn't been there?!

This has been argued over for a long time now. They routinely fight against orders from foreign governments (foreign to Switzerland). When one case comes along and the Swiss government actually says they need the information, and the courts say Proton has to abide, they finally do. This somehow negates every other time the government has come knocking and been told to fuck off? They tried, the courts said they had to do it, so they did. If they didn't, the service would be gone now.

Remember folks, it's not okay to (jokingly) threaten violence against things like the NRA convention or the Vatican. Please save your violent threats for judges and jury members of your favorite criminally-charged politicians. Thank you.

I'm a lemm.ee user. I visit hexbear communities as they appear in my feed, much like how you might visit other communities on other instances due to the nature of federation.

Your response to an entire post outlining my experience with hexbear users is "seriously?" Do you have anything else to add? This is supposed to be a discussion. If you have something to add to the discussion, please do so. It's really easy to not respond when you have nothing to add.

I play with it off, because I prefer to not have my rolls messed with in either direction. I don't personally want to play with it giving me an artificial bonus and then likely dumping on me the next time I roll.

As someone else stated, if you don't know what you're doing keep it on for the sake of gameplay. Otherwise turn it off if you don't want it
