This really is my favorite Garuda feature - it's saved my install more than once so that I can roll back a messy update, figure out what broke and why it broke, and then make sure the next update works

Yup I had this experience too. I've read that their denial emails aren't being sent out by their mail server, but it really felt like they just ghosted me.

Besides Wiki and AUR that all Arch derivatives share, they have their own wiki that documents the changes they're made to Arch and a very good forum for help

A lot of people think it's just Arch with an installer and lots of bloat and a neon theme but it's a lot more than that.

Garuda uses this feature on an Arch base, it's saved me a couple of times. Props to openSUSE for developing the way to make that happen!

The launch of Helldivers 2 as a simultaneous Steam and PlayStation launch shows that Sony is interested in doing this. But its launch also shows that Sony just isn’t ready, with broken queues, missing rewards, and an overall sloppy execution.

These are welcome changes but I don't think calling it a 'confusing array' in a feature parity update is actually good reporting. Oh wait, it's The Verge...

Yup I had this exact same problem with Nobara, it's like everyone recommends it but nobody actually uses it before they recommend it.

This video on YouTube talks a bit about what happens if Biden dies between now and 1/20, and could be applied similarly for Trump dying or going to prison. It’s somewhere in the late middle of the video.

I've used Garuda and I think it's great. It has bootable Snapper snapshots enabled by default, a post-install wizard for software, and a custom update script that's not too customized but does a couple neat things like warn you if Grub has been updated. It's biggest criticism is bloat, but on modern hardware it's fine. Still runs better than Windows.

If you're newer to Linux I recommend Garuda as a beginner distro. It's very similar to Endeavor as an Arch base, but has some friendly GUI options like Snapper bootable backups for easily undoing bad updates and an update script that takes care of mirror list and orphan notifications. People complain about bloat in Garuda and while there is some it's also helpful bloat, still less than Windows, and has negligible impact on modern hardware
