PS VR2 was designed from the ground up specifically for PS5 – so you’ll notice that some key features, like HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback (other than rumble), are not available when playing on PC. However, other high-fidelity and sensory immersion features of PS VR2 are supported, including 4K visuals (2000 x 2040 per eye), 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, and see-through view, as well as foveated rendering (without eye tracking) and 3D Audio in supported games.

Adaptive triggers is not surprising I guess, but even the haptic feedback? Eye tracked foveated rendering as well, imo all this combined with the price tag for the adapter makes this not a good option. Only if you already have one and always wanted to try PC VR. And even then I’m not sure if it’s worth the adapter price.

Not all of these are programming languages btw

It was working again for me after a few hours, but not being able to play anything at all, including downloaded offline games, was really frustrating.

1Blocker, but there are probably better/cheaper ones out there.

For YouTube specifically I can recommend Vinegar.

The don‘t seem to understand that announcing games when they’re very far from ready isn’t a good idea, half of what they tease never sees the light of day.

I obviously don’t have any inside information, but my guess is that he’s not flexing with this, he just can’t let it go, he probably should. Especially since he’s already halfway in retirement.

The guy in the video literally just watches a video and compares a picture of a screw with an actual one. I don’t think anyone would bother putting on a headset for that.

If someone is buying a Quest for productivity I think they’ll be very disappointed. The new window management looks like a welcome improvement though.

I’ve been on basically that exact same journey. I made a little iOS app that uses rss feeds and the iframe player to play videos: Unwatched for YouTube (just released it two weeks ago). It’s also open source, if you have any specific questions let me know.

I don’t think the "your Facebook account gets banned" aspect is an issue. You don’t need a facebook account anymore, but a Meta account instead – same company ofc. So if your actual issue is Meta being behind it, that changes nothing and you probably shouldn’t buy anything from them.

But I’m not sure if there’s any headset that doesn’t require some sort of account at one point, even if it’s just a Steam account.

Think of it what you will, compared to crypto there’s actually value that people are getting from LLMs. Even with its current shortcomings.

Force them (including myself) to implement dark mode, and soon dark app icons.

It probably is a combination of multiple things, but I can imagine that selection bias is one of the bigger reasons. I wonder how many Q3 buyers are new to VR and how many people already know what they’re getting into.

I‘m curious, do you actually want to play it now or not?

I’ve been a long time 1password user, but they turned away from individuals and towards b2b. And they’ve gotten a lot more expensive as well. I ultimately switched to iCloud Keychain and I’m quite happy with it. There’s still a few shortcomings, but they don’t matter as much anymore. I’m happy to see the upcoming changes.

Hiking ≠ walking

They had walking directions probably from the start, but there’s new topographical map now.

Hard disagree on most of these points. Lower price seems obvious, but everything else on that list is optional.

I’d love to see games & motion controllers, social platforms is basically games. "All day" ergonomics are a stretch and 99% of people won’t care about a stylus.

I’d say less friction is more important: no cable, lighter headset. Maybe even glasses form factor before it can go fully mainstream.

Remains to be seen how it actually plays, but I can imagine that the general gameplay is very difficult to get right.

Are you talking about asking Siri about bedtime stories? Because that has been a thing for a while. Apple said that AI stuff was coming later this summer with a waitlist, so none of the new stuff should be there yet.
