Backup generators are the only reasonable alternative at this scale if the grid goes down. Battery banks last minutes, and are only good to allow for diesel to kick in.

My texts are rubbish because, somehow, the keyboard predictions & autocorrect are worse now than 5 years ago. We have LLMs barfing out fully coherent sentences on their own, how does this even happen.
Well I wouldn't recommend data & analytics right now, if you treasure your sanity.
Imagine tech debt accumulated over decades absolutely skyrocketing because LLM can generate thousands of lines of SQL or Python that noone understands.
I mean, I'm sure the same applies to all tech sectors and likely worse. I do admit it also helps us fix and uncover some old and buried bugs. It's just not used with any sort of care or long term plan.
The wheels are built extremely thin (0.75mm aluminium) to save on weight. The rover is incredibly heavy (340kg/750lbs in Mars gravity) on those paper-thin wheels, I'm really amazed it held this far.
I don't think recycling code is embarrassing? No-one can be expected to write a new codebase from scratch for every new product or machine. That would be worse than building on top of a solid foundation.
It could be the pressure of 'staying pretty'
making them hate themselves for eating to the point of detriment.
I understood that ozempic, the weight loss drug, is also widely used, which could be additional peer pressure.
These people are constantly scrutinised under a microscope, it's a lot to handle.
Obviously all speculations, there could be other reasons.
