Hallo ich mache Philosophie, Technik und Gesellschaft.
everytime you have sex and enjoy it, jesus cries (/s)
god made you, body and soul, but he made you mostly to suffer against your own nature, because god is a masochist or sth (/s)
no but seriously. i can't think of a more detrimental effect on our people than the mindset of the church of england.
every step is about 30% of the total cost so far
so, it might cost $1 to get the equipment for getting fish out of the sea (buying nets, buying ships, etc.)
every step seems to get more expensive than the one before it
i'd argue that the actual problem is that parents lied about the tooth fairy to their kids. how can kids trust their parents if parents just make stuff up occasionally? the world is full enough of wonder, no need to make stuff up.
mathematical insight is a bit like hyperbolic space. the further out you go, there more stuff there just is.

or in other words, if it's a tree datastructure, the only special point is the point right at the origin. that's why, if you want to be special, you gotta stay there: don't learn mathematics at all.
toothpaste: so basically we're turning your mouth into a small chemical laboratory to fix some issues with basic inorganic chemistry.
on a side note, it takes less fuel to transport stuff to the surface of mars, than to the surface of moon. the reason is because on mars you can aerobrake while on moon you have to spend fuel to decelerate.
everybody can build a bridge that stands. it takes an engineer (and maths) to build a bridge that just barely stands.
i would also add that what makes customer-facing jobs so stressful is that you cannot know the outcome. some people behave like assholes, demand to see the manager, then tell them that you did a bad job, and there's nothing that you can do about it.
if you're working as a bomb defuser, you either pull the right wire or you don't. it's simple laws of physics. you follow them, and that's it. when you're working with people, however, there are no rules. that's what people don't get. people seem to think that well, working with other people is just natural. however what makes it so stressful is that there are no rules. no matter what you do, you can always get shit on. that possibility drags on your brain and eats a lot of your energy.
ungewollt
Kommunen - also Komuhnen - erinnern mich an Kühe.
well i originally did the images for the !mars@discuss.tchncs.de community to have some nice visuals to go with. just like pepper makes the food tastier, even though it serves no role in diet, so do visuals make discussion more lively, even though they're not technically necessary.
anyways, after a significant backlash against AI (that btw i still don't get but whatever) i stopped posting these images, now they're sleeping on my disk.
ahja. ruhrgebiet. wer kennt es nicht.

yeah it's visible that it's AI but the stuff is still recognizable
meanwhile my own sketches look like this:

also recognizable but less graphic --> less catchy.
also in case anyone is wondering: the greenhouses are well-rendered by AI. it's not a mistake, i specifically asked it to draw it like this. here are some more:

the reason why it looks like this is because it's essentially a flat sheet of plastic filled with water, to grow algae in. algae can be surprisingly nutritious actually. (comparable calories to bread)
hah yeah :)
i've recently seen my cousin (22M) eat a whole plate of noodles with sour cream, then another one. i felt like i'm seeing a fire storm eat up a rack of dry wood or sth. meanwhile i eat like 3 tomatoes and am full :P
fun fact: low doses of radiation are actually known to reduce cancer rates. there's quite a bit of research into it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hormesis#Radiation
In Taiwan, recycled radiocontaminated steel was inadvertently used in the construction of over 100 apartment buildings, causing the long-term exposure of 10,000 people. The average dose rate was 50 mSv/year and a subset of the population (1,000 people) received a total dose over 4,000 mSv over ten years. In the widely used linear no-threshold model used by regulatory bodies, the expected cancer deaths in this population would have been 302 with 70 caused by the extra ionizing radiation, with the remainder caused by natural background radiation. The observed cancer rate, though, was quite low at 7 cancer deaths when 232 would be predicted by the LNT model had they not been exposed to the radiation from the building materials. Ionizing radiation hormesis appears to be at work.
I’ve also heard that it makes your skin act weird. Several trans people I’ve talked to have all mentioned that getting their hormones managed made their skin care routine either way easier or harder in a sort of “holy shit” way.
can confirm. skin got 100% softer after testosterone blockers.
the actual mistake of politics is that we have given in to vibes-based voting instead of actually looking at policy proposals and commenting on those.
thanks for using Leebra!
