It's very simple, most of the posts here are circle jerks (Linux, FOSS, boy howdy aren't we better than Reddit, communism) or rage bait.

I only come here when I'm having a good day and I want to reel myself in a bit

Edit: see below to see how far Lemmy users will go to circle jerk how much better they are than Reddit

Shout out to EthosLab for doing the exact same format of content for ten years with minimal changes

When they call you a liberal, they're referring to the classical meaning of the term rather than the newer definitions.

That's a good take, I hadn't thought of comparing it to Primer. In Primer, it's clear Shane Carruth thought out all the implications of his time travel system. I don't get that feeling from Tenet, where it feels like Nolan thought it would be cool and didn't go further. What you end up with is a movie that's fun while you're watching it but falls apart once it's over and you think about it for more then 5 minutes.

The scene I think is the most egregious is the air terminal fight. It's a cool idea in theory but a fist fight between two individuals going in opposite directions in time would immediately result in a paradox. It's hard to explain but it essentially boils down to the fact that both fighters are reacting to their opponents reaction to the move they're about to make.

My team is trying to shift away from Java towards a TS backend. Call us stupid but our current Java stack is a nightmare to work with.

Personally I would love for us to do a Go or Rust based backend, but we're basically a startup with a rotating set of employees so I don't see that happening

Yea unfortunately I'm not really in a position to wait. I've also been told I may need to upgrade my CPU as I'm currently using a 3900x, do you think that's the case?

I see, I've managed to find a 7900xtx for the same price as a 4070 ti super. Would you say that's a better purchase? I don't use Linux for gaming.

They do, it's called Weibo and Elon has explicitly said he's trying to make an app like it

Yea, I've had this happen to me in my first year of university. Wrote an assignment and foolishly put it on a public Github repo. Someone found it, changed a few variable names and submitted it. Got caught by an auto-detector and accused of plagiarism, luckily the prof just gave me a 0 on the assignment.
