One of the two things the Carney government is up to that I do like is the concept of a middle power alliance as a counterweight to the larger powers. Also I'm a fan of Sheinbaum and the things she and her government have been up to in Mexico. Which is all to say that this sounds good to me.

Eby was competitive for most popular premier in the country at one point. Back when he was attacking AirBNB and making municipalities open up to infill, or otherwise delivering for his base. Since, he's fallen into the trap of chasing your opponent's voters instead of keeping his own base engaged with policy wins, and his approval has followed suit.

Israel already said they weren't recognizing the deal and they weren't leaving Lebanon, so the real question is what is Trump willing to do to about Israel to make that ceasefire stick? Historically not a lot, but that relationship does seem to be chafing a lot recently.

Any dollar the US puts towards defence is more likely to go to some arms manufacturer's CEO's kid's second maserati than it is to military preparedness. Any sane country is looking at what Ukraine is doing or Iran was doing until recently when looking to develop an actually effective military doctrine and not a graft machine.

By 'feckless Liberals' here I'm referring to the Liberal caucus. I give Liberal voters a lot more grace because, in my opinion, Mark Carney did a lot to misrepresent who he was before and during the election. But unlike voters, caucus has things they could do right now to stop this, now that it's clear who Carney is.

I'm sure inviting the corruption machine into our lives will not have any negative consequences. I trust all powerful people to never use their power to engineer situations they can profit from, something that is definitely not an ongoing issue just south of us.
