I'm done. Steve Huffman's comments have cinched it for me. The guy is a prick and doesn't give a shit about users in the slightest. I'm also welcoming the chance to disconnect from the mindless meme scrolling.

I think the fault lies squarely in the hands of telcos. They're meant to send you an SMS or call you to confirm any port before it happens. If they're not following those rules they should be held liable.

On another note I wish banks and other financial institutions would provide other 2FA options in addition to SMS. It's just crazy that I have better security tech on my Steam account than my bank account.

Inundated with applications...just like those houses.

I'll see myself out.

If I make a post on here saying "the sky is purple", am I spreading disinformation?

Contrived example obviously but this seems like very far reaching legislation.

Having worked in government for a brief stint, I can't bring myself to watch this show. It's just too real. Gives me flashbacks.

Diablo 4 and a beer or two for me. Yeah I'm a wild one.

Bit of a shame for car enthusiasts. There are not many tracks around SE QLD.

However, the changing landscape in the motor industry, not least of which is the rise of electric vehicles, meant the economics of such a track no longer stacked up.

This doesn't make much sense. EVs can also be driven on a track. I'm guessing the real reason for stopping development is general economic concerns.

Not me. For me it's half a matter of principle, but I'm also liking the fact that I don't waste as much time doomscrolling

This sounds like a poor man's Welsh rarebit https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welsh_rarebit

Yeah alright cobber

This is so fucked. What's with all the knife crime lately? Is it increasing or is it just being reported more?

Fucken sick cunt

Oh haha yes I have seen Mean Girls, now I get it. Well I'm right here with you trying to make fetch happen so I guess we'll both be Gretchens(?!)

Agree with this. The old sub seemed to have a massive influx of users from /r/Australia which decreased the overall quality of discussion i feel.

not much. scarn on with you mate?

The news for me is that they still had product development staff in Australia

I don't know who Gretchen is, but I appreciate the posting activity!

Been wondering the same thing myself. Personally I will be spending a lot less time on reddit. I've kinda welcomed this forced eviction as a prompt to change my habits, and focus my time on more productive things. Even if that's just actual conversation here, rather than browsing memes on reddit.

So be the change you want to see in the world I guess 🙂

Thanks for following up!
