Cinema, not literature. In the books the undead army is way less OP than in the movie adaptation. Their only weapon is fear, and they do not liberate minas tirith, but only scare the mercenaries off their black sail ships. Aragon uses the boats to quick travel to minas tirith with his elf and half elven friends and fresh troops from the south.

When you piss off a woman with a perm in your restaurant and ten minutes later several apache helicopters rain down hellfire on your establishment.

They don't even kill them, they just scare them off their boats using 'fear as a weapon'.

Dolphins would have a pufferfish take the coke, then eat the pufferfish. It's very efficient.

I think the movie was great actually. Acting was proper, music was really catchy all the way, jokes were super on point and well timed, and the set design was amazing. Not the best movie ever of course, but definitely one that was added on my re-watch list directly after viewing. Loved the story and societal message as well

Is c level a motorcycle or an e-bike? I've never seen an icon for an e-bike before, and if it is, I am loving the conciseness of the design. If not, there's no way a motorcycle is better than a line bus right?

Just a bonus note from a Dutch guy, the text just below say lekker blijven likken, or: 'just keep on licking'.

Please sir, resting bitch face is a serious affliction.

Bonus fact: after getting out of this tree he quickly zoomed to a second tree, which he also climbed.

The first person to coin the word meme was Richard Dawkins in his book 'the selfish gene'. He also postulates in the same chapter that religion is a particular form of a meme. So you're one hundred percent correct!

More!! Make one about the atoms of which her body consists of and the electrons being flown around it in airplanes!

The Fermi paradox is the discrepancy between the lack of conclusive evidence of advanced extraterrestrial life and the apparently high likelihood of its existence.

Fuck that scale bar though. The decimal separator makes it look like the human hair is 10cm thick.

I sleep so much better after I started doing this. Seriously, try it out for like a week/month and you'll never go back, I swear

Usually measurements in ice core drillings.

But it's not about hopelessness. It's about coming to terms with having lived a full life and being fully ready for a dignified end of it. My girlfriend works in a Dutch nursing home and has had the privilege of assisting a couple of euthanasia tracts for the elderly, and she says it's one of the most magnificent things she was able to do for someone, emotionally speaking. People are very clear about the reasons (which have to be not only discussed, but thoroughly vetted by 2 doctors) and do not make this decision lightly. These is a very high level of clear communication between the family, doctors and patients about all relevant aspects for everyone involved.

I think when you and I reach that age, we will have very different thoughts on life and death.

Some friends of mine in new Zealand had their own company growing and selling lily's and other plants. Became a huge thing, bought a huge house. A decade ago they sold their entire company and went to picking strawberries. They just pick strawberries all day every day, and they love it. I was pretty jealous. So maybe you could stay in your field but just a completely different position. You'll already have connections and experience.

Crazy redundant. Had to make the hard choice of either cropping or giving credit.

Tucker and dale vs evil

Time series forecasting is a pretty well-established statistical method though.

You might already know this, but letting cats play with loose pieces of rope is kind of dangerous. My friend had a really expensive cat operation because the lil guy ate the entire rope and it screwed up his intestines.

Super cute though.

Kind of petty from Zuck not to roll it out in Europe due to the digital services act.. But also kind of weird since it's open source? What's stopping anyone from downloading the model and creating a web ui for Europe users?
