as an american i must say i HATE this as well. people ask me why i use military time and i say it's because there are 24 hours in the day so it makes much more sense to me. and that in other parts of the world they call it international time with the military having nothing to do with it.
makes me wanna scream. thank you for letting me go off.
damn, and that's just the rent, not even factoring in food and clothing. wow.
they will give incredibly private information to the highest bidder
at a school named after W.E.B. Du Bois of all things. He would be ashamed.
i found some symbols that represent the real domestic terrorists
as someone who has noticed far too many articles mentioning police having killed people who look like me and my family members, this is what us black folks like to see.
when it's illegal to exist might as well fuck shit up, be they do crime yall
we already have this feature on the Tusky app but I'm glad Mastodon is adding it to the native app
I like OP's idea but I wonder about the legality of it and how it might be used against BookWyrm by private entities. Interoperability/plugins that act as middle-men + open library seems like the way.
fucking legend signed his name as "ACAB." damn. solidarity.
why is he not in jail yet lol the fact that an obvious criminal is running for president is such a farce and a disgrace to this country smh
there's just nothing like the original cast of Misfits.
good to know because honestly after Meta forcing a clone of my Insta account onto Threads (which I'll never use), really considering finally cutting ties with all mainstream social media and deleting my Insta in favor of Pixelfed. and just going total fediverse.
"the fediverse isn't ready to take over yet" - so put time and attention into making it ready instead of trying to build something completely new. If enough businesses and public figures put their resources into getting the fediverse beefed up (or dumbed down/simplified) to where the public needs it to be to meet their needs, it could happen much sooner. And it'd be better in the long run than whatever replacement will just follow the exact same villain character arc as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter - sell more shit to you and let the app fucking break.
what counts as a holy book? what if i get a group together and we all declare something like Game of Thrones to be holy?
in Italian even. incredibly based.
Isn't decentralization already part of the solarpunk ideology? Seems like the internet in a solarpunk world would just be the fediverse, but it's normalized instead of alternative.
Honestly instead of fracturing a movement, this is something that, if not already part of solarpunk, could easily be encompassed within it. No need for splintering and factions. Just co-opt the way capitalism does to make the movement stronger.
i wouldn't know, i haven't been back to reddit
my bet is one of their bots made this and they don't even know this ad is out in the wild until someone brings it up
