What we found being stable, being running and developed in different flavors since the '88 (hoooooly cow, feels like yesterday...) is IRC.

We dabbed with our own hosted server at irc.gamerstavern.online (port 6697) and I must say that, as simple as it could be, it is still a better system than Matrix.

In addition to that, to help our less-tech-savvy users, we also decided to host TheLounge, a neat client that help simplifying the usage of IRC and allows users to jump in chat with our community (both on IRC and Discord, being the two of them bridged with a self hosted tool), without the need of registering an user.

On a positive note, I can now start playing Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.

It's amazing in VR. My only complaint is that the staff in VR gets embraced as a rifle which is kinda bad. Everything else? A+

@bisby@lemmy.world thank you, fortunately I was already aware of that and already bought the Rebirth episode for PC. What I was trying to say is that they quite stretched the story to make it last over several games. But it's FF 7 so I'm game.

The only thing I can't forgive them is not allowing the game to run in UWHQD resolution, but luckily I found a way to run in that resolution through SteamTinkerLauncher

@RebekahWSD I've seen me losing interest in the RPG at the end or halfway more than a few times due to accumulated fatigue (game too long, too hard, too whatever), so might this should be your reason too?

Or could it be that the game is so good you don't want to say goodbye to the characters?

@ivanafterall@lemmy.world well, it's quite packed with NPCs compared to Elite Dangerous. Even when directly flying your ship you're bound to encounter a plethora or other ships.

I'm more of a lone space wanderer, and that's why I love getting outside the bubble in Elite Dangerous. There's absolutely no one else there
