H-how did this meme clear up a confusion I have with ** pointers after all these years?

They're just pointer pointers!

Dang, that is so cool C can do that.

Yikes man, as a gov't worker who gets paid less than my counter-parts in my industry: there are people who work for less in a capitalistic system for the betterment of others and are proud of it. You have no idea what you're talking about.

E: not every person has blinders about "what's in it for me." And it's not "communistic" to do so.

All hail the UNIX and UNIX-like.

I just want Macs to get gaming support cause Native games ran really well on my MBA. Which was mindblowing, not having a fan and all.

I guess he found out that selenium script kiddies like myself can simply scrape the website instead of paying the api fees. It's not as efficient — or maybe my scripts just suck — but you can't beat free!

Or, more cynically, they're making the app more painful to use if you aren't paying for it.

I spent a decade as am automotive locksmith, and watching things regularly fail on cars that passed through my shop has made me terrified with the touch screen. I cannot imagine replacing one of those and how easily first parties can lock replacement behind getting it done at one of their shops.

Me, on Fedora, wondering when the wiretapping begins.

(I'm hoping they step it back, else it's Debian for me 🙃)

Tbf, I have a slight feeling the users here might have a FOSS bend at a higher clip, so that perspective is to be expected.

I know because I'm one of these guys. Insert any tech company in for X and I'll have something to grumble about after a few beers 😅

Well, I mean, in the United States our culture is built around "business good; much innovation" and anything to stymie corporate efforts is met with groans of "you'll understand why it must be this way when you're older." It's almost reflex for some to be apologists for corporations.

Heck, I even read some takes around that damned submarine being along the lines of "we shouldn't regulate the sub industry -- that CEO was just trying to innovate!"

What's crazy to me is that these laws will always arrive at this result because, at least the warehouses I've worked at, wouldn't want to take on the risk or spend the time to verify all this sensitive user data for such a small subset of users.

Then the users just use a VPN. Nicely done lawmakers, you've accomplished nothing.

What on earth? Maintaining my Fedora machine has been a breeze, and most games work out the box whenever you install them on Steam!

Gaming has become the main task I expect my Linux device to do expertly!

I thank god smart phones didn't exist in thebMySpace/FaceBook transitional time. Holy god I was an edgy atheist getting into "debates" about religion with my friend's parents.

one test and when you pass it you don’t have to go to school anymore.

In America it's called the GED. I know this because a friend of mine took it at 15 and started community college immediately.
