I am thinking, from when it is easier to cry on Lemmy/Reddit then just spent 5 minutes of your life googling and finding solution. Like bro, i was able to solve this as 15 years old kid, when i first met GNOME :) just try sometimes thinking first, then crying ;)
To your question, he is just a populist. He was promising that we will stop delivering weapons to Ukraine after he wins, but those deliveries did not stop, only thing changed is that Ukraine now needs to pay more for them, because then: "we are not funding war, we are just doing business now" :) it's hard to be Slovak, because people here are so selfish (big part of us, not all of course) and want war to stop because everything is worse than before and Fico is saying anything to pretend he will do that. Also out country is so damaged by fake news and propaganda, that it is very hard to achieve something wihtout being hated by half of the coutry that thinks that if you dont like what Russia is doing, than you are Amrican agent (really, this happens 🥹).
But yes, it is really funny for me, that my grandmother is on one hand talking about invasion In 1968 as something terrible (naturally) and then with straight face tells me, that Ukraine started the war and we all suffer because of them. It's really hard, and Fico is making it even worse. Sorry for my rant, I just wanted to speak my heart out 🥹
And btw. you now more about our history that half of our country, which is kinda sad, but understandable, when you realize, that only 30 years ago, this topic was baned. 🫠🫡
Brother, its not that easy. I live in Slovakia and have countless discussion with manu people about this. You have to understand that majority of this country population was born during comunnism and it really shows. Fico is for lot of them something they know, and they refusr to believe anything wrong about him. Fico plays the with the feat of 'liberals' and people belive that. It is not very bright in here know, but i belive ot will get better with younger generations :)
We all use Linux here brother 😄 but to be fair, it's not that complicated. Find yourself some simple tutorial on webpage on other device and just follow step by step and everything should be okay :) At least for me was, when I was first moving to Linux 😄 get yourself some good beginner distro like Ubuntu or Fedora and you are good to go :) good luck on your journey brother 🫡
I know its not related to story, but that militiya officer in photo has interesting rifle in hands. Its seems to me, that it is not Mosin, but rather canadian Ross rifle, which is quite uniq thing in wild and even more in Soviet Union. Some Lend Lease mistery i guess.

Well, times were different. People thougth that EU is gioing to magically everything perfect. And also, there were much less disinformation campaign (i would say almost none), as average people did not have internet.
If you do not live here you cant possibly understand how big disinformation wars are here. Slivakia is almost like a trainig field for every different type and approaches to this "tactic", which are then used in other countries.
Its hard to see people you respect be completly brainwashed and blinded by something, they would think is normal 20 years ago. But it is what it is :(
