Haha. This is all quite amusing entertainment. Wait, aren't these people trying to run the most powerful country in the world?

I think the grand plan is to find somebody who messes up Europe from the inside, so that Americans don't notice the difference too much.

... I don't think a democratic society can survive if this is the attitude of the law inforcement.

It's part of a concept of a plan. Great flood, plagues of Egypt, ...

The message is going out to scientists from all around the world. Have a look at some quotes in here https://www.reuters.com/... At least in Germany programs to help scientists that are fleeing from oppression are in place. But of course the recent US policies are in focus in the news.

Tired of winning...

"This is why Europe is open to the best and brightest. This is why we will make proposals to help them 'Choose Europe'. Because we want scientists and researchers from all over the world to make Europe their home – and to make Europe the home of innovation again."

I've ditched Amazon, Microsoft, lots of Google services, coca-cola and practically all US owned grocery products. I bought a 'new' PC second hand because it is more than fast enough and I wanted to support AMD/Intel/Nvidia as little as possible. I own a switch and prefer games from non-US developers, buy used games on physical cartridges. I don't subscribe to streaming services and use physical media, preferably non-us. I regularly check ownership of brands (e.g. glasses & clothes) before I buy something blindly. So far I'm happy and don't miss a single thing.

You mean one of those model whyyyy's?
